Rating: Summary: Just a giggle Review: A found it a struggle. Put it down many times but eventually made it to the end. The odd 'giggle' yes, but I expected better. If you really want a good one and laugh, get 'No Shoes Allowed' by Jan de Groot.
Rating: Summary: Just a giggle Review: I purchased the book because the reviews sounded good. I was disappointed wish I would have checked it out from the library instead. I found it only mildly amusing and felt that it was not written very well. If you are looking for a good sailing book, read John Kretschmer's "Flirting with Mermaids" or Susan Tyler Hitchcock's "Coming About" instead.

Rating: Summary: a must for every nautical library Review: Reese doesn't sugarcoat, and he's a bit of a curmudgeon, but then again, I LIKE curmudgeons. Cuts to the heart, contains many great paragraphs, and several sentences I had to read aloud to my wife. Best off all, Reese gives a simple lesson in sailing at the end that cuts through the over-technical verbage I'd grown used to in searching for good sailing instruction. With a few crude hand-drawings Reese explains how sailboats work so that anyone could climb aboard and go!
