Summary: a bride definitely in overdrive
Review: Bride in Overdrive is a diary of author Jorie Green Mark's Path toward Marriage. The reader gets to learn her inner-most thoughts and share her encounters with pre-marital brattiness. Her anticipation for the worst case scenario is combined with comedic overtones. It is not just herself trying to plan a marvelous wedding. Her story includes her best friends and extended family members and also an extraordinarily wonderful future mother and father- in- law. All contribute to fulfill her most lovely wedding day. The author does seem to possess a conceitedness about getting her own way - which at times she unabashedly admits.

Summary: Great read for all of us who've been there!
Review: Funny account of pre-wedding bride concerns....I shared it with a co-worker who is getting married in a few weeks, just so she knows she's not the only one who has been to bridal insanity and back! We all gotta learn not to sweat the small stuff like napkins and underwear! I can't wait to read Jorie's next book...on motherhood!??

Summary: A breezy read with emotional heft lurking behind the laughs.
Review: I bought this book for a friend who is planning her wedding and ended up reading and thorougly enjoying it myself. The writing is clever and funny, and the narrative kept me turning the pages to find out what was in store for our bride next. What really struck me, though, and kept me engaged on a more emotional level, were the deeper issues behind the silliness--the repercussions of being a child of divorce, struggles with body image, family politics--that often surface when one plans a wedding. I related to Jorie's story on many levels and look forward to reading the novel that, considering her wit, talent, and insight, she is destined to write.

Summary: Insightful and funny
Review: I followed all of Jorie's writings on theweddingchannel.com for fifteen months during her engagement and for the first year of her marriage. They were all very funny and witty but this book goes much further into the trials and tribulations she endured as a bride-to-be. A wonderfully humorous and well-written work, "A Bride in Overdrive" hits the nail on the head and is a must-read for any woman in that "in-between" stage of life.

Summary: Spoiled Bridezilla
Review: I had expected this book to help deal with wedding stress without turning into bridezilla, especially since it's well-written. But unfortunately, the book only tries to justify bridezilla-hood.

My wedding is only four and a half months away, so I'm pretty sure that, contrary to popular myth, not ALL women turn into shallow, self-centered, unreasonable brats when they get engaged. I had to hide this book from my fiance so he wouldn't think I will become like the author.

Summary: Just the right blend of warmth and humor!
Review: I loved this book! I've already given a copy to one recently engaged friend. Jorie Green tells some hilarious stories that all brides will recognize. I hope she writes about her experiences with pregnancy and motherhood soon.

Summary: Hilarious book! Easy read!
Review: I truly enjoyed this book. I tried to forget the person that I turned into when I was planning my wedding, but this book brought it all back. I truly laughed out loud at some parts! jorie Green Mark has an easy writing style that makes you want to keep reading. I devoured this book in a weekend and I enjoed every bit of it.

I hope that Jorie Green Mark writes another book about the trials and tribulations of motherhood. I will be first in line!

Summary: Fabulous!!!
Review: Jorie is a wonderful writer -- witty, honest and very real. I was reading in bed the other night, and laughing so hard that tears were practically rolling down my face -- my husband looked at me like I was nuts! This book is hysterical, and I think it is a must-read for everyone even contemplating engagement and marriage.

Hopefully, Jorie will be entertaining us with "Mom in Overdrive" in a few years!
