Summary: Lucid for Leaders, Valuable for All
Review: This is a well researched, well written book. It takes a leader we know and love despite his shortcomings and failures and shows how his leadership style is truly effective and radically different from most leaders in the business world.

Among other things, the book talks about vision and values, meetings, delegating and how to be more efficient and decisive.

The book will be of most interest to business leaders, but it's also useful for leaders in other types of organizations. It's also useful for people who are not leaders themselves but need to learn how to "manage up" or influence a boss or client, whcih is a valuable skill.

If you like leadership books, or are a Sopranos fan, you will probably love this book. Because it's well written, you will keep reading. Because its lessons are valuable, it will help you in your business or organization.

Summary: When Tony Talks... Leaders Listen
Review: Tony Soprano is a great boss. He is a great motivator, time manager, delegator. He's decisive, inspiring and, yeah, tough. This book has examples from the show that explain this new style of management. But there are also worksheets and case studies, so you can really start putting it to work in a practical, hands-on way. So, if you want to be as effective a boss as Tony, while avoiding his pitfalls, this book is for you.

Summary: Wow! A Business Book That Is Bound To Work
Review: TONY SOPRANO ON MANAGEMENT is wonderful! It's cheeky, witty, wise and thoughtful. Drawing on a popular cultural icon, someone everyone knows even if they've been living under a rock, this book details how to be the most effective manager you can be. And Schneider dosen't just focus on Tony as a manager, he devotes part of his book to talking about the ultimate manager, Carmella - the queen of "managing-up".

Even if businees books aren't your normal literary fare, this one is worth the read!

Summary: This wise book gives new meaning to the term "wise guy."
Review: What a refreshing book! "TONY SOPRANO ON MANAGEMENT" gives new meaning to the term "wise guys." For it is truly a wise book. It cuts through the you-know-what, and comes through with some smart lessons for anyone in the workplace who wants to do better. It's clear and to the point, totally free from the jargon that usually characterizes management guides.
The book's lessons range from quick tips -- "Practice saying no," "make friends of your co-workers" --- to profound, even philosophical thought. And the book is well researched. There are ample examples from proven leaders in real-life business -- the Tony Soprano lessons are only half the story. I found it fun to read the incidents and anecdotes taken from the show. They made the business lessons easier to grasp, and easier to remember. You'll love this book if you're a SOPRANO fan, and even if you're not, you'll be glad you read it. And so will your co-workers. Don't be surprised when they ask "Who made you so smart all of a sudden?"
