Rating: Summary: Vapid and superficial. Review: Funny that I can't find Ms. Davis's name in any of the Hollywood Creative Directories of the past couple of years. Did she really work in the business? I am a so-called "D-Girl" in Los Angeles and though some of the advice in this tome may be valid, the bulk of it is superficial and won't do much to advance a career. Though LA has an infamous reputation for judging people by their looks, Ms. Davis goes so far to suggest that accessorizing and wearing the right clothing are what get you ahead in the film industry, rather than the quality of your work. Her book is misguided, and seems more the byproduct of stereotypes of Hollywood superficiality than the result of real experience. Additionally, her lack of irony is off-putting.
