Summary: Read it! Even if you are not a Spice Girls fan!
Review: I seldom read biography, because I always think that what is written is not true, but I have to admit that IF ONLY is a very truthful book. I was a Spice Girls fan, that's why I picked up this book, and to my surprise, I found this book not only interesting, but also inspiring. I am an 18-year-old girl, and life sometimes is so confusing to me. I started to suffering from anorexia then bulimia, and everyday became a nightmare to me. I have recovered from that, but from time to time when I feel lonely and have a low self-esteem, I will binge myself again. When I was reading this book, I could see that I am not the only one suffering from this, even the oh-so-glamourous-Ginger-Spice has gone through that too. After finishing the book, I've found the answers to some of my long-time-unanswered questions on life, and the most importantly, I have energy to go back to my life again! I recommend this book to all of you, especially to those who feel lonely and desperate at this moment.

Summary: "If Only" was an outstanding autobiography
Review: I give "If Only" 5 stars! I wish I could give more! I love Geri and I beleive that all of her work is great but this well written autobiography about geri's life before and after the spice girls. It tells some of her most personal stories, fr instance she wrote about when she was alone on her 18th birthday contemplating suicide while she lay in a bath drinking rum right out of the bottle as she cried and felt worthless and unloved by everyone. It also talks about Geri's First time if you know what I mean. She was totaly disaointed in sex she had dreamnt of a romantic candle night dinner and then passionate lovemaking, but instead it was on a twin size matress liying on the floor with a fight on the radio. Geri reveiled it only lasted about 5 minutes. And then it was over! I highly recomend this book to you a fan or not it will make you laugh and make you cry.Geri We love you keep up the great work! your number one fan, Lee Harris

Summary: This is an excellent Biography
Review: In my view I believe this autobiography, If Only, is an excellent book. It tells the real inside story of Geri Halliwell's life from her point of veiw. I think this is one of the best biography's I have ever read.

Summary: good book
Review: This book seems great, I would love to read the whole biography. But I would not refer this book to young girls (for example, the preteens that loved the Spice Girls), because there are two topless pictures of Geri back in the day when she took nude photos.

Summary: GERI'S BOOK IS AMAZING
Review: This book was absolutly brilliant. I laughed and cried. I felt pride and sympathy for her. It's very well written. She is an amazingly stong woman and a creative writter. I loved this book. Way to go Geri.

Summary: Sympathy for a Spice Girl
Review: I liked this book a lot, but not for the reasons that others have cited. If Only is a perfect example of the celebrity "autobiography". While a little disjointed it tracks a path from humble beginnings to superstardom. It shows some clear signs of a coauthors knowing hand, but remains just disjointed enough to present an authentic voice.

No hard hitting expose's here. Nearly everyone Geri meets is at least nice. And it makes a point to emphasize that she was born in 1972. Personally, I find more to admire in the fact that this woman who is _clearly_ older is still pulling the age trick off. Even if there is a slip up a couple of chapters in when she describes being touched by the wedding of Charles and Diana. In 1986. Clearly the consistantcy fairy slipped a bit.

It's a vastly entertaing read, and I look forward to the second volume, some 20 years from now when she no longer feels the need to be nice.

Summary: Heart Warming and Beyond...
Review: Despite what some critics might be insisting, "If Only" by Geri Halliwell is not the stereotypical rags-to-riches story or pop star memoir. How can anyone's heart-felt life story be thrown into a pile and categorized? Life is too precious, and Geri took my hand and intimately guided me through each memory and personal reflection she had to share. She didn't merely "tell" me what happened, she actually brought me to each place in her life, painting a vivid picture with descriptions of sights, smells and sounds, moments of catching someone's eye, and various diary entries from her youth through the present. The reader is invited to ride all extremes of her emotional roller coaster with her.

The book encompasses Geri's childhood dreams, young adult wildness, a recurrent bout with bulimia, the death of her father, her days as part of the Spice and pre-Spice phenomenon, and yes, her break from the group with recent reflections on herself and her life, lessons learned and inspiring words included. Eternal longings, reaching for stars, and coping with her very sensitive heart and introspective mind appear to be dominant themes. But as much as she laments on what brings her down, she glorifies her incredible highs as well, and kept me laughing with countless funny stories and one-line quips. Geri is keenly aware of her inner-being and her surroundings, and she uses this awareness to present the reader with what I consider a gift of herself. It is priceless.

Recommended for anyone who has ever felt lost, chased a dream, or, as one can assume, taken an interest in Geri or the Spice Girls. It is a must read for any fan who has ever loved the Girls for the chemistry between them. She says of their not-quite-famous-yet days: "Later by the pool, we were accused of being trespassers by the security guards and I had to complain to the manager. He was very apologetic. Apparently, girls our age didn't normally travel in groups or five and stay at luxury resorts. The same poor manager had to deal with the complaints when Mel B. and I went roller blading through the corridors. Girls will be girls." Exactly.

Ten stars out of five!

Summary: BRILLANT! GERI IS SO EXCELLENT!
Review: I had ordered Geri's book 3 months in advanced just to make sure I would get it. It is the best book I've EVER read. She has had the most interesting life, from her childhood "on Jubilee Road," to her modelling career, to the Spice Girls, and to the Geri she is today. If you are in doubt of buying this book because of the price, oh, go for it! You won't regret it!

Summary: A Star Still Lives...
Review: Geri's book is very inspirational. It's a modern-day Cinderella story. The book shows that behind all the walls that are put up with stars, they are still human. How she wanted fame so much, proves that if you want it, you will get it! Once I started reading, I couldn't put it. GOOO GERI!

Summary: "If Only" is a very inspirational read.
Review: When I picked up "If Only" the first day it was released, I couldn't stop reading. Geri Halliwell's story of her rise to fame and the personal battles she fought and overcame is very inspiring. I kept reading because I had to know how she managed to overcome those obstacles. I recommed this book to any fan of Geri's as well as anyone who is dealing with their own inner struggles. Way to go Geri! Thank you for sharing your story.
