Rating: Summary: Halliwell: If Only Review: I bought this book on a whim when I was shopping for my friend's birthday present a few years ago. I don't regret buying it. I felt it was heartfelt although it was peculiar of her to write it just after her split from the Girls. If you were/are a fan of the Spice Girls, especially the one formerly known as Ginger Spice, I suggest you buy this book.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I was shocked on 1998 why she left the band and really with all the stories going on about when and how she left I could not get it until I bought this book. As I was reading the book ,and I was amazed how Geri opened her life in this book. I had to read the book twice because you just have to with this one but I did get it at the end and it was a really good book!
Rating: Summary: Excellent work Review: Geri Halliwell is witty, honest, and deep in this memoir of growing up with a strict mother and struggles to become famous. Some may argue "But she was 27 when she wrote it." Let me tell you: Age ain't nothing but a number. Just because she's young doesn't mean she's not full of stories! Aren't we all? Buy this book; you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Read This Book! Review: I will be the first to admit, when I first heard "Wannabe" on the radio, I had no clue who the group was that was doing it, nor did I have any sort of active interest in them at all. Not until I saw "Spice World, The Movie" did I fall in love with their humor, and wit, and music. Of Course, not long after I got involved with their music, and started collecting their CDs (both of them), Geri (formerly known as Ginger) left the group. I enjoyed this book. I was able to better understand Geri as a person, and learn what prompted her to leave the group. This book will re-think any thoughts you might have previoulsy had, and help you take Geri seriously.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: After the success of the Spice Girls and Geri's departure, a huge question mark as to why she had done so was left. This book explains all, from the very early years of her life to leaving the band and starting her solo singing career. It also tells you of the steps she took to become famous and where it led her. This self written autobiography does alot for the people reading it, not only does it answer the questions that we had about her departure from the band, but also shows that no matter who you are if you set your mind to something then it will happen. In conclusion one of the best books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: I was very curious about this book, I wanted to know why Geri left the Spice Girls, and I also wanted to know about little secrets about their life as artists, what did she think about some of the things the other girls did, live concerts, and things like that, and she doesn't really talk about these things. So I was a little disappointed. But the book is great, and I don't regret buying it.
Rating: Summary: Awesome story Review: I really liked this book, its so cool to read whats going inside the head of a pop star as they are rising to fame as well as leaving it.
Rating: Summary: A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Review: This book happens to be the best book I ever read in my whole life. I have never been a Geri Halliwell or Spice Girls fan and still think the book is amazing.Halliwell has a good structure and turns out to be a very talented book author. The book is a very interesting look "behind the scenes" of the music business so to say but it also deal with very personal issues of her life. She's very open to her audience.
Rating: Summary: Halliwell shares an insightful perspective! Review: Geri Halliwell allows the reader to experience celebrity. She takes you into her life and lets you to know what fame feels like. I found her honest reflections and down to earth attitude, surprising and quite inspiring! This is a must for any one who has ever dreamt of fame.
Rating: Summary: If only I didn't buy the book Review: What a waste of money and time!!!! Geri Halliwell only demonstrates what an egomaniac she is and reinforces beauty stereotypes. She is doing her young readers an injustice talking about her bust size, looks, etc. Very superficial! And her supposed problems with bulimia were almost an insult to someone who has been struggling with it for 16 years. In short, save your money and watch Cinderella-it's more convincing.
