Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Choice sheet music from a choice band.
Review: This songbook, dealing with selected works of one of my favorite pop/alternative bands, is among the finest available on the market today. All of the transcriptions are clear and accurate, with no noticeable mistakes in either the sheet music or lyrics.

The selection of songs for the album is also quite well done; among the sixteen available songs you'll find huge hits ("All I Want", "Something's Always Wrong"), lesser-known singles ("Fall Down") and even a few virtual unknowns that never saw any airplay ("High on a Riverbed"). The choices create a very well-rounded collection, and represent Toad's body of work quite well. This is a pleasant departure from most of the songbooks available today.

The only reason this outstanding collection gets 4 stars rather than 5 is the question of difficulty. Toad the Wet Sprocket guitarists Glen Phillips and Todd Nichols are highly skilled musicians, and the care and dedication they apply in creating their music shows very clearly in the pages of COLLECTION. While this makes their recordings second to none in quality, it also makes this songbook second to none in difficulty! Beginning musicians beware, this is not an easy set of tunes to master.

Overall, a great value. I recommend this to all intermediate and advanced musicians, especially Toad fans. However, even non-fans should find these songs challenging and entertaining, so give COLLECTION a shot!
