Rating: 5 stars
Summary: MOOving
Review: David Lill's picture book reveals not only the personalities of cows but of the Brown Swiss breed itself. They are attention-loving almost to the point of being pests. His pictures capture the connection that farmers of this breed cannot help but make with their herd. The animals transform you. They work on your soul every minute that you are with them and whether you want to or not, you come to love them. Each animal has its own personality and each one reminds you of people you know or situations you've been in. Brown Swiss are living "Farsides." I bought one for each of my 11 brothers and sisters. We grew up on a Brown Swiss dairy farm in Wisconsin. I didn't need to write a personal note to each brother or sister because David Lill's pictures speak for themselves.
