Summary: Great Bach works made accessible to pianists
Review: Busoni has some great organ works for his collection of Bach transcriptions. The pieces specified by my two fellow amazon reviewers are great, but the ultimate masterpiece in this book has to be the great Chaconne, from the Violin Partita in D minor. This piece alone is well worth double the cost of the entire book and provides great joy to any Bach-loving pianist who learns it. Thank you, Sr. Busoni!

Review: Busoni was famous for his transcriptions of Bach's organ music. The true genius of his work becomes evident when one can see the adjustments Busoni made to the originals. These works are a very rewarding challenge for any serious pianist. I personally am quite fond of the Tocatta in C Major.

Review: It'an excellent book. It can be very technically challenging at times but don't give up!! I recomend starting with "Nun freut euch, lieben Christen gmein" [Rejoice, beloved Christians] an then go with "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme" [Awake, the Voice commands]. I hope you enjoy it as much a I do.
