Summary: ¿?Who KILLED Kurt Cobain¿?
Review: "Who Killed Kurt Cobain (The Mysterious Death of an Icon)" is a very well-written book. I must say that the author(s) of this book really did a great job. This book looks at all points of view, from Courtney Love to the band members, to the family, to the media, and even to Kurt himself. This book gives just about everyone a chance to say what they think happened to Kurt, and then presents evidence to prove/disprove theories. This book is a very interesting book I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get an understanding on what happened to Kurt. This book really does not state weather Kurt was killed or not, it just lays out some evidence and theories and let's you decide what you think really happened. It is an over-all good read, and I hope someday the case can be re-opened to see WHO KILLED KURT COBAIN.

Summary: A incorrectly titled book of one suicidal man
Review: Basically, Nirvana was just a great band of music..bottomline. They really weren't about, nor did well in publicity issues, such as this book. Frankly, I am a true believer that this author was unaware of the meaning of nirvana before writing all about Kurt. Such a state needs to be realized and understood in order to understand and especially write about this man of brilliance. I would only read this book under an impression of non-fiction, for I am firm on my beliefs that this is a poor and ilicite illustration of Kurt Cobain. The real title of this book should be Did Kurt Cobain achieve his nirvana?

Summary: Great Book
Review: This book really goes into Kurts life and the fact that he was murdered. There is so much evidence that shows that Kurt definitly did not kill himself. I think Courtney might of had something to do with this and I just want to say dead men do not wipe fingerprints off their gun. If you believe Kurt killed himself read this book and it will definitly change your mind.

Summary: Leave Courtney be.
Review: I'm tired of people making money off of Courtney-bashing. If you have some real evidence, bring it to a D.A. If you don't, then fair-may-la-boosh. It's not that I sign on to everything she says or does, but she's trying to raise a daughter (who certainly can't be helped by the rumor-mongering), and in any case it's just disgusting that anyone's making money by floating these unsubstantiated factoids. Do you people have to scrounge this low for your next meal? I'll spring for your next can of chili. But puleeze, let the grrrl be! Perhaps you can find a spot on the D.O.J.'s new Tullulah Bankhead program (see "Lifeboat"). Otherwise, what I say to them, I say to you: let you who is without stink cast the first jaundiced tome.

Summary: Death of an Icon
Review: Though this book does not prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Kurt Cobain was murdered, information given will make you sit back and debate with yourself. I'm not going to give it away and tell you some of the information that has been revealed, but if you are a Nirvana fan or Kurt Cobain fan, i would highly recommend reading this book. It is a fast read and you will find it hard to put it down. Wether suicide was the cause or foul play was involved, it still a depressing thought that we lost a very talented individual to the almighty above.

Summary: Loaded up on facts
Review: This book is not a murder theory. It does not imply anybody directly being involved in Cobain's death. It does, however, give you facts about Cobain's life beginning with his youth all the way through his tragic end (you decide for yourself who or what killed him). It is a retelling of the painful and tumoultous life of one of the most intriguing personalities of the punk scene.

Summary: A fascinating and - amazingly - true murder mystery
Review: I must advise anyone interested in buying this book to disregard anyone accusing it of being "tabloid" garbage. "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" is wonderful and thorough journalism. Can one entirely trust a few websites blatantly accusing Courtney Love of the murder? How do you know that these people aren't biased against Love in the first place? What about one study that covers the heroin aspect of the case alone, entitled "Dead Men Don't Pull Triggers"? Or a documentary, that could very well have no factual information? Each of these sources alone doesn't pull enough of its own weight to prove much of anything, but this book is a compilation of all of it, going into detail about all of the different claims made by conspiracy theorists but leaving the reader to come up with his or her own conclusion. It was, as the back cover states, "meticulously researched." Completely unbiased and written in the manner in which one would expect award-winning journalists to write, "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" makes no accusations. I was pleased to see that they added information about the lives of both Kurt and Courtney before Kurt's death to reveal their characters, thus shining some light on MOTIVE; why would Kurt commit suicide? Why would Courtney have him killed? Many have accused the first few biographical chapters to be nothing but re-statements of what everyone already knows, and that they don't go into as much detail as a full biography of Cobain. This is expected, and I - being only a casual fan of Nirvana - didn't know most of the biographical information. I'll be sure to check out "Come As You Are" for a more detailed story of Kurt's life. But in any case, this was not meant as a biography of Kurt Cobain OR a biography of Courtney Love, nor was it meant as a tool to convince people that Courtney Love killed her husband. It is, as I have said, a detailed compilation of the facts involving the case, and nothing more. Wallace and Halperin have written it for a noble purpose; for the same reasons that Tom Grant still pursues the case today: so that the many families of the copy-cat suicide victims all over the world can know the truth behind the reason their children killed themselves, and for Frances Bean who deserves to know how her father died. If defensive Courtney Love fans read it as a bunch of tabloid nonsense that blatantly accuses Love of murder, then perhaps Tom Grant is right on the money.

Summary: Starts slow, but the murder info is mandatory reading
Review: I believe Kurt Cobain was murdered. I won't go into details, but you can read alot of them in this book. Now, the first few chapters are biographical information on Kurt and Nirvana, and it's pretty useless. Most of the info was taken from other books or from common knowledge. This is not a good book to find out about Kurt Cobain. For that, read the book "Come as you are", by Michael Azerrad.

However, the best part of the book is the last few chapters, where the murder evidence is reviewed. This is mandatory reading for any Nirvana fan. Even if you think Kurt killed himself, read this book. If it doesn't change your mind, it will at least make you think.

Summary: justiceforkurt
Review: I liked this book, but the title is somewhat misleading. It talked about the murder theory but tended to dismiss it based on half truths. The author tries to discredit Tom Grant and that made me angry. I would recommend it but say keep an open mind and dont make it your only research. If you read this, read Tom's case study too. I say always get both sides. It is a great starting point in finding the truth about Kurt's death.
