Rating: Summary: Beginner's point of view Review: Just started playing recorder four weeks ago. Bay's book is good in that it teaches you to read music while you learn to play your instrument, and it gives you a CD featuring several of the pieces in the book - a huge benefit. The oversights I've noticed are a)there's barely any instruction on breathing method and b)"tongueing" (a very basic must-know skill) isn't explained at all. I found myself spending time on the internet to supplement these oversights, and even had to re-train myself on how to produce clear notes.
