Summary: Love Humble Pie and the Faces, but didn't love this book
Review: As far as I know, there aren't too many books out there on two of the greatest rocknroll bands, the (Small) Faces and Humble Pie. Needless to say, I was very excited to learn this book exists. In addition to the subject matter, I was attracted to a very handsome cover and the generous amount of rare photos found throughout. However, I was soon disappointed to discover that this book fails to paint a complete picture of the various incarnations of the bands portrayed. The book seems to be a rush job; covering dates, album and song titles, but fails to get to the heart of the matter. I would have liked to have read more stories from band members about the recording process, touring, and live performances. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by the many books on the likes of Dylan, Beatles, and Stones.
