Summary: Good overview for new blues harp players...
Review: I found this book a good overview on blues harp. The book is a combination of many things -- not so much completely "how to". The book covers a little bit of history, a simple straight harp song, some cross-harp licks, and some techniques (many of which are way to complicated for beginners, like 'throat popping'). I also liked the book for its discussion of harmonica microphones, amplifiers, and the reference of must-have harmonica CDs. The accompanying audio-cassette is good and illustrates many of the techniques, and there are a couple of good songs at the end. If you're going to try and learn to play blues harp and only buy 1 book -- then this isn't it. But if you're going to buy 2 or 3 books on the topic, then you will like this book, as it covers many areas not discussed in other starter books.
