Summary: Perfectionists Beware!
Review: I love the music to 1776. However, if you want to play these songs to accompany the recordings, or if you are a perfectionist, you should know a couple of things. First, the words to one song, "Is Anybody There?" are not the words (or even the precise melody) done on stage or on the CD. I suspect the song in this book was an earlier version that had been eventually reworked. If you like that kind of trivia, this may be a good find. But you will be disappointed if you want the lyrics and music to match the score as it was done on stage. Also, a couple of the songs are not in the same key as the songs on the CD. Still, if you just enjoy playing good music, you'll enjoy this book.

Summary: A must-have for any "1776" fan!
Review: If you enjoyed the movie (or Broadway) version of Sherman Edwards' "1776," this book containing the piano/vocal score to the musical is for you. The music comes alive in "1776 Vocal Selections" when you too can sit at your piano and sing as one of the Founders of this country.

Summary: Decent for the fan...
Review: Some of the songs have different lyrics and/or lyrics that weren't on the soundtrack. Also, some of the guitar chords are quite difficult to play. Check your local library to find it, as you're unlikely to use if often.

Summary: Old harmonizers never die-they just buy vocal selections
Review: This is a great selection for those of us who have done/are currently doing musicals and enjoy spending time flipping through music looking for that next great stage hit for your theatre company. All the harmonies might not be there but if you've seen the movie, you can figure it all out. Great tryout music, too.
