Rating: Summary: Goofy, but not good Review: Amateurish layout, inaccurate data, and a sour ethical history. Maybe check out an alternative?
Rating: Summary: It's got some new stuff Review: Definitely takes a different direction from Vol 5. More emphasis on the the scene, the lot, other "jambands", and folks in the fan community, and less emphasis on information about the band, their shows, and their music. Maybe Vol 7 will complete the transition and the PA can become what it began as, an exponent of fans rather than a focus on Phish.

Rating: Summary: Goofy, but not good Review: Forget every other book about phish. This is the only one you'll ever need. This book has everthing you could ever want to know about them and is a great reference tool if you have a large tape or mp3 collection. There are enough statistics, stories, reviews and setlists in here to keep any phan busy for months. If you just can't get enough phish, you need to have this book.

Rating: Summary: By the Phans, for the Phans Review: I got Volume 6 a week ago and I still can't put it down. If Phish is a special part of your life as it is mine, then you simply must own this book. It is a wonderful combination of the factual (setlists, stats, song reference tables etc.) and the personal, with brilliant and funny stories written by phans. What sets this book a part from every other Phish book is how it has a little something for everyone. The band history, covering about 30 pages at the front of the book, is more thorough and more entertaining than any ever written. There's a great piece on Tom Marshall, based on an interview with him, and many rare photos (Wetlands! Amy's Farm!). Then there are some really moving personal stories about Phish show experiences. I've read lots of boring personal Phish stories online that no one but the writer's mother would care about. But these are truly compelling works of literature. I guarantee you that if you are a Phish fan, you will read this book more times over than any you have ever owned. The critics of this book are just plain jealous, that's all. The Pharmers have done it again!
Rating: Summary: A Must Have for any Phish Phan!!!!! Review: I just want to thank everyone (past and present) at the Almanac for all of the hard work and dedication put forth to the BIGGEST Almanac of all time! Obviously, any Phish phan desperately needs this book to get by. Each page jumps out at the reader, which is important to keep the attention of someone reading a 550 page book! It also does a great job of paying respect to the band and the glorious scene that surrounds them.
Rating: Summary: What an INCREDIBLE Book! Review: I was pleasantly surprised to see how extensive the new Almanac was. Absolutely awesome eye-cathching stuff in there, and much more representative of the Phish community than past volumes. Hard to beat this one
Rating: Summary: Underground-style printing makes this book special Review: It's no secret in the Phish world that the authors of the Almanac crafted this book without any help from publishers, agents, or reps, and put out the single most informative book in the Phish community. Everything you could imagine and more is in this book, and it's homegrown feel will make everyone feel like part of the team
Rating: Summary: You must own this book! Review: The Pharmer's Almanac makes me proud to be a Phish fan. This book, if you've never seen it, is a wonderful combination of the factual and the creative. It has a zillion setlists and song tables, and also has a detailed and well-written history of the band (something no other book really has, even the Phish Book). But the gems of the Almanac can be found in the little slices of wit, insight and humor that pop up on every page. This book was written by, designed and published by Phish fans. It's gone through several editors over the years and is as strong as ever. That our scene could produce such sustained excellence is something we should all take pride in.
