Rating: Summary: Cello is an instrument of many words... Review: Dont take my rating all too seriously. I dont have a good eye for rating things on a scale (as my statistics teacher tells me) but i know a good piece when i smell one... or is it when i hear one? i guess will never know, but all i have to say is that tchaikovsky wrote one of the greatest pieces of cello music out there, next to haydn, bach, beethoven, etc. variations on a roccoco theme is a wonderful piece of music for the aspiring cellist, seeing that i am one and know many more. =)
Rating: Summary: virtuoso cellist's point of view Review: I am 15 years old and concider myself a pretty good cellist. I love Tchaikovsky's music, but he didn't much for the cello solo. I've been looking for a book like this for a long time. This book is excellent source for studying an orchestral work. It has all the parts on one page, and the soloist will know where to come in. Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations are considered to be one of the best works for the cello. I think that anyone who enjoys music like I do, a musician and or music lover, should own this book.
