Summary: Fun Stories with Bad, Bad Editing
Review: Originally, I bought it for a friend, but it sounded interesting so I kept it for myself... Upon reading it, I found that the book was very amusing with a good mix of stories (things that I know to be true as well as things that I find to be mildly questionable). However, there is one major problem with this book: The editing is TERRIBLE! Some sentences in the book do not make sense (whether in or out of context). The errors are so numerous that it seriously detracts from the stories. A third grader could proofread better.

Summary: the truth hurts
Review: Reading the online reviews of this book were even more amusing than the book itself is! The reviews are perfect examples of the type of morons who believe urban legends. This book is a good read, but it forgets to mention that there is no Santa Claus. I would write more words, but a cow is stuck in a tree down the street, and I need to go help the poor thing get down.

Summary: Needed more history on the urban legends.
Review: The book is interesting, and fun to read, but it would have been better with more history on where the legends came from. It has a little, but not nearly enough. The book is a nice size (smaller than normal), which makes it a good book to travel with. Great for long car rides with other people. If your looking for a fast fun read this is good, but if you looking for a good book on urban legends, I'd look elseware.

Summary: a good bathroom book
Review: these "unbelievable" tales are good fodder for the restroom (i mean that in the most affectionate way possible). some of the stories will have you scratching your head (please make sure you wipe first) and others will make you laugh. you might want to tell one of these stories at your next family reunion when someone asks what you've been up to.

Summary: Urban legends at the unbelievable best!
Review: This book has an amazing 223 urban legends and every one of them is a gem. While some of the stories are recognizable urban legends, such as 'the hook' 'spunk ball' and 'baby on the car roof', others are lesser known. All of them are fun, and most are a page or less.

This is the perfect book to throw in your suitcase or backpack for having a little fun while traveling, tanning, or waiting for an appointment. It's also a great conversation starter, and the stories are great to read at parties for a laugh or cringe.

If you do decided to invest very wisely and buy this book, please read "the backyard archeologist". It's one of my favorite short stories of all time.

Summary: Great Gift
Review: This book has made my official "fun gift books" list this year. If you are my friend, be expecting this book or one of these for your birthday or anniversary this year.

The RoMANtic's Guide, The Darwin Awards, Ultimate Survival Guide

Summary: How do you know if they're true or not?
Review: This book has only the urban legends themselves without any facts to debunk them. I felt I was getting sucked into hearing rumors or gossip (albeit interesting rumors) rather than uncovering any truths.

Summary: He managed to suck the life out of Urban Legends
Review: THis book was given to me as a gift. I enjoy reading urbanlegends, and have even been victim of a few. The author managed tocompletely suck the life out of the urban legends he includes. Byediting them down for length, the plausibility of each story iseliminated. Very few were left intact.

It is also irritating tofind several stories inside which are true, or not ULs at all.Including Microsoft easter eggs.

If you love Urban Legends, checkout one of the many sites dedicated to them online, and save yourmoney.
