Summary: Gets this pro's approval!
Review: I've been playing blackjack for 20 years and this is one of the best book out there. It is fun to read and is not filled with too much math so the average person can grasp what the author is talking about. However, it will teach you what you need to know to beat the casinos. There are in fact other fine blackjack books out there but this is one of the best.

Summary: The most overrated blackjack book - Nothing original
Review: This is without a doubt the most ovverrated blackjack book. Scoblete is a professional writer, not a professional blackjack player. To the general public, this book is considered way up there, an incredible book. To those who are students of the game or professionals, realize scoblete is just a mickey mouse. There is nothing new in this book. Read the works of Wong, Snyder, Schlesinger, Anderson and Zender for serious texts.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good for Beginners and Intermediate Players
Review: If you want to learn how to play blackjack and enjoy your reading experience as well then this book by Frank Scoblete is the best to buy. I've read several blackjack books now and this is the best one to learn from. There aren't many charts and he keeps the math to a minimum. He explains the strategies in simple terms and his anecdotes are hilarious. You will really enjoy this book.

Summary: I Learned and I Won!
Review: This book is just great because you can beat the casinos if you learn what the author is teaching. It is a good book for understanding what it's like to play in the casinos too. Mr. Scoblete explains the ideas in such a way that anyone can understand what to do at the blackjack tables. Great book. When I went to the casinos after reading it I found that I knew exactly what to doi with each hand in each situation. I even won some money.

Summary: There's More Here Than Just Strategies
Review: Every blackjack book basically teaches basic strategy and card counting. This book is different. While it thorouhgly explained the basis of basic strategy and card counting, it also explores which games you should play and which games you shouldn't. It explains why penetration is more important than "good ruloes" for the card counter and why card counting is no a guarantee that you'll win. There is excellent money mangement advice as well. Scoblete also has some of the most intereting first hand acounts I have ever encountered in a gambling book. He also has some excellent sections on dealer tells and some hysterically funny stories about "ploppies." This is a great book and I recommend it to anyone who has the least interest in the game of blackjack.

Summary: The Title Says It All!
Review: This book is well researched but is a great read. Scoblete is able to make a wealth of information into a godl mine for the player. If you want to get the edge or reduce the house edge, this is the book for you!

Summary: Old hat -- same old same old
Review: Nothing new here. This is the same old stuff that has been written for 30 years about BJ. Absolutely nothing for the experienced card-counter. For the novice, some helpful advice, but the neophyte would be better served reading a book dedicated to cardcounting.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Incredible book!
Review: This is just a great book by a great writer. If you have any interest in blackjack or casino gambling, buy it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Background and Advice
Review: What I really like about this book is the comparison he makes with the various counting systems. The author shows that playing a level one or easy counting system is just about as good as playing a more complicated system. Then he shows you the system he recommends. The book is excellent in its depictions of what it's like to play in real casinos. Frank Scoblete, the author, is a very talented writer and his stories about the casino wars are very funny and witty.

Summary: A Book That Teaches and Entertains
Review: I learned so much from this book that I don't know where to begin. I had never played correct basic strategy so I started with that. Scoblete makes it easy to learn as he doesn't give ten or twenty different strategies but one for single deck and one for multiple deck. His way of teaching card counting is easy to understand and even easier to apply. He covers many of the fine points of the game in this book that go a long way to giving you great insights. I really enjoyed his stories about his trips and experiences in Las Vegas with his wife, "the beautiful AP" as well. If you ask me out of five stars this book is a SEVEN!
