Rating: Summary: Give yourself a chance to win - Great! Review: I went from being a blackjack chump who consistently lost plenty of money to almost always winning. You can't beat a hot dealer sometimes, but over the long run using basic strategy and even simple card counting, you will win. Great book. All my gambling friends keep borrowing it from me even though they have other blackjack books.
Rating: Summary: Loved This Book Review: I learned a lot from this book. I went from being a loser to being a winner thanks to Scoblete. He's a national resource!
Rating: Summary: Title is Accurate, Best Blackjack is Just That Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Frank Scoblete has a very pleasing writing style and he is able to make even the most difficult concepts seem easy. He explains in an understandable way why blackjack is a potentially beatable game and then goes on to describe which blackjack games are worth playing and which are not. There are chapters on many of the new blackjack variations and also on how to play as a team. Scoblete's insights and his humor are first rate. I particularly enjoyed the sections about the "Million Dollar Bum, "The Ploppy from Hell" and his "blackjack diary" that goes over about three weeks of play in Las Vegas. This book is a definite must have book if you want to learn and even if you just want to have a good reading experience.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant book by a brilliant author Review: This book has so much going for it. It is well written, fun, witty, strategically accurate, and thoroughly enjoyable to read. Scoblete knows gambling like no other writer and this book is filled with his wisdom. I think anyone interested in casino blackjack will want to give this a read. I really loved the sections on the million dollar bum and the blackjack diary. This is the hird book by Frank Scoblete that I have read and every one of them has been just amazing!
Rating: Summary: Cool Book! Review: I read two Scoblete books in the last week and I love him! This book is a lot of fun and even though I never played blackjack, I intend to learn how to and I thank this great author for turning me on!
Rating: Summary: Good for New Players and Pros Alike Review: Frank Scoblete's "Best Blackjack" is a very comprehensive book that explores all you need to know to become a competent basic strategy and advantage player. Scoblete is a magnificent writer who can weave anecdotes and stories around the stratgeies so that the book is never dull or pedantic. I think players of all skill levels will find enough here to make the purchase of the book a very worthwhile expense. I think that anyone who goes to casinos and who has not read something by Frank Scoblete is missing out on a great experience.
Rating: Summary: Super Book Review: I enjoyed this book more than any gambling book I ever read. Not only does Frank Scoblete give us great strategies but his analysis of the game is comprehensive and interesting. But what sets this book apart are the true-life stories and insights. Scoblete really captures what it is like to play in the casinos. He is funny, witty and wise. This is a tremendous book and I recommend it to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Just Amazing Book Review: I really liked this because it has everything you need to win in one complete volume. It has basic strategy, card counting and other advantage methods. The writer, Frank Scoblete, is able to make everything understandable and enjoyable. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a thorough knowledge of blackjack. Not only will you learn how to win, you will find that you are enjoying the reading as well. Scoblete has a very lively and enjoyable style unlike many other gambling writers who are really boring.
Rating: Summary: This is the BEST Blackjack Book Review: I have thoroughly enjoyed my blackjack experiences since I bought this book almost two years ago. I have won money using the easy to learn card counting system that Scoblete teaches and I have gotten a load of comps. This book was a lot of fun to read so you get knowledge and entertainment from it. Scoblete is the best gambling writer in the universe! If you want the best blackjack book ever written I believe this is the one.
Rating: Summary: I'm a Pro and I Liked This Book Review: I am currently working my way through graduate school in California by playing blackjack in Las Vegas for fairly big stakes. I have read all the blackjack writers such as Wong, Schlesinger, Snyder, Griffin, Vancura and Fuchs and others but I have stayed away from Scoblete because of criticism of his work by some other writers. I wished I hadn't. First of all, the guy can write a great book. For sheer writing talent he is unequaled in gambling writing. He captured what it is really like to play blackjack in a real casino for real money. His experiences smack of truth because I've been there and done that! His advice for the recreational counters is excellent and while this isn't the most advanced blackjack book by any means, it is an excellent read for professionals and amateurs. I especially liked his discussion of tells which I think is the best I've ever read, even better than Steve Forte's work. The book might not add to a professional's bottom line since tell-play is almost over in BJ, but if you like reading blackjack, this book is just great. I think it ranks very high in the blackjack literature and has not yet gotten the accolades it deserves.
