Summary: The Dot and The Line
Review: I just read my copy of this classic to 40 1st and 2nd graders. It was amazing! The fidgetting stopped, a silence descended, and then the oohs and aahs started. They fell in love with line just like dot did. Then 3 little girls asked their school librarian if the library had it. This is a classic worth passing on to the next generation.

Summary: a timeless peice
Review: I memorized this book at age 2 and it continues to be my favorite book. It is visually, mathematically and linguistically unparalleled in the world of small treasures. In 20 years, this book has never failed to make me smile.

Summary: such a sweet story
Review: My geometry teacher read this story to my class and it is the sweetest story I've ever heard. It may be a tale of a dot and a line, but it means so much more. It says the age is from 4-8 but I think people of all ages with enjoy the story of the dot and the line. Five stars, try six stars. It's great!

Summary: And I thought I loved Geometry
Review: Plain and simple, this is a very cool book to give someone you love. My wife gave me a copy for Valentine's Day last year and I have kept it on my desk ever since to remind me. Read the other reviews if you have time to waste, but then buy this one. When you get it, carefully read it yourself, THEN wrap it. Then, when you give it, curl up with that special person and read it together. This is less fattening than chocolates, lasts lots longer than roses, and is way cheaper than either.

Summary: Not just a child's book. Works well in the math class room.
Review: The author treats the dot and the line as if they were human, not just geometric figures. Most of us are lines, we just don't know it until a dot comes into our lives. Some of us act like the squiggle trying to impress the dot.

I saw a movie made from the book in the middle sixties. Does anyone know if it is available on video?

Summary: Possibley the simplest and helpful book for finding love
Review: This book offers a mathematical metaphor for the search for love. But the most incredible part of this book is its ability to simplistically offer some of the best advice ever on learning who you are yourself, and how one has to act to attract another person.
