Summary: Look at me world, I'm beautiful and I'm talented!
Review: Wake Up, I'm Fat is the clarion call for the new millenium. The past century can be summarized by the phrase: I'm okay, you're okay. But that's bull! With the dawning of a new age upon us who would've guessed Camryn Manheim would be the one to cut through the fat and realize what you see is what you get. Always has been, always will be. Scold me for saying life's a big orange marble but that's how I see it. Thanks Camryn. My big question with acting, and writing: How do you keep so many spinning plates in the air? With my busy schedule I feel I'm living in a Jokeland. However, after reading your book I'm ready to shout to anyone who'll listen: Look at me world, I'm beautiful and I'm talented!

Summary: Manheim is inspiring with "Wake Up, I'm Fat."
Review: I ordered this book online, got it today in the mail, and proceeded to read the whole book in one day. I definitely was inspired by this book and I recommend it to anyone (You don't have to be fat to appreciate Camryn's words of wisdom. They are universal.) It's about Camryn's struggle with self-acceptance that she has finally acheived. I think this book has the potential to help a lot of people.

Summary: WOW!!!
Review: Camryn is truly a goddess, and this book proves it! Not only do we get inside her mind and see what makes her tick, we get a great look at the New York theatre world and how they treat one of their own. This is a must read book for anyone interested in theatre as well as those of us that want to quash the rule that only the skinny ones get the great life!!!

Summary: WOW
Review: There are no words to describe how good this book is. It's funny, smart, sassy, uplifting, and very honest. Written very nicely to boot. I recomend this book to...well...everyone. Not only fat people can relate to this, everyone can. The underlining message is very powerful, and very true. Camryn Manheim is a remarkable woman.

Summary: Big Beautiful Amazon Writes Big Beautiful Book!
Review: Words can't really express how much I love this book. I read it in two days, only putting it down to sleep, and I think it is amazing. It is one of the funniest, inspiring, touching books I have ever come across. And Camryn totally looks like a fox on the cover. I think this book is so important. As a young actor, It really inspired me to follow my dreams no matter what happens, and as a member of a fat loathing society, it made me reevaluate how i thought of myself and other. Camryn should run for president. I think she is absolutely delicious! but this book. keep it in your back pocket, and take it out for some big laughs and even bigger inspiration

Summary: "A painfully honest book, with a lot of spunk and GOODNESS!!"
Review: What a wonderful book. I love her honesty and wit throughout the entire book. I could relate with many of her shared feelings and hope to begin accepting my own body like she has. Reading her life's story has given me a new view on life. She is a true inspiration to all women of substance!! This book is a MUST read, and a certain keeper. If you want to share it with your friends, but them their own copy!! This girl is the bomb!!!

Summary: Just read it in one sitting!
Review: I ripped open my amazon.com package this afternoon and sat down to LISTEN to Camryn Manheim. This dear woman is singing a song I've always known the tune of but never the words, and they are self-acceptance, self-assurance and self-love. DAMN! Words betray me as I find myself overwhelmed again with emotion over the many nuances (some delivered with a 2"x4" as well!) to the deepest parts of my psyche. I never wanted to be an actress and I have tried hard to be a person who tries not to let the self-loathing bring me down. I didn't really gain my extra person (as I call my fat, since I looked up the stats of a female basketball player I admired and saw that although our being the same height I was twice the weight - I could turn her into a grease spot on the wall!) until after I was married... then after years of yo-yoing (is that a word? <g>) and trying to lose weight and hating myself for failing, I told my husband that, like Popeye, I was who I was -- and he has accepted that (thankfully I don't have the huge forearms, THAT might have been a problem). We had a beautiful daughter come into our life 5 years ago, and now I hope to not cause her the same pain of self-loathing as many of our mothers inflicted upon us through the brainwashing of society. It took her about a year for me to even let her have a Barbie, and the best revenge about that is that she carries it by the hair! Barbie definitely doesn't last long in the hands of a toddler... heh. Take take you anorexic doll you! Anyway, if you have ever felt bad about your self-image for WHATEVER REASON, this book is a healing... if you admire Camryn Manheim for her work on THE PRACTICE, this book is a revelation of who she is and the long path it took to get there. BUY IT NOW! And Camryn if by chance you read this -- DO AN AUDIO BOOK!!! I'd like to hear you ("cuss words" and all!) tell me again. THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC AND REVEALING LOOK... I look forward to your sequel after the Oscar ceremonies!!! -- Beverly Martin in Texas (PS we're a great place to get a tan too!)

Summary: Five Stars From Another Fat Girl!
Review: When Camryn Manheim stood on the stage at this year's Emmy Awards, holding her Emmy overhead and shouting, "This one's for all the fat girls!" I cheered and cried. I received the book yesterday, and just finished it. I believe this book is for everyone, because *everyone* has had something in their life that was preventing them from realizing their dreams. Fat people don't have a lock on being afraid to live their lives "until". Camryn's book is a great read. It's entertaining, funny, and at times, very sad -- but ultimately, it's a success story. Against all odds, in spite of people who actively discouraged her, she's living her dreams, and helping others to live their dreams as well. To loosely quote Camryn, "If you're standing at the corner of "Life" and "You Better Get Going", step off the curb and don't look back." What are you *waiting* for?

Summary: Camryn Manheim is the real deal... and so is her book.
Review: Thank goodness for Camryn Manheim. She's real! No implants, collagen or phony coquettishness. She's a great actor and a funny, clever, remarkably polished writer. How can one person possibly be so talented? With her Emmy-winning performance on The Practice, outstanding work in Happiness and this amazing book, it is clear that Ms. Manheim is truly the Queen of All Media.
