Summary: The Supremes Forever
Review: I defentily love this book. It tells the great history of the supremes and some of the motown legends as well. This book is one of the best books i have bought, even though alot of people critizied it, saying it was against diana ross but to me i think mary wilson was just expressing her feelings towards diana. to me i like this book better than "supreme faith"(my life as a supreme)because in dreamgirl she tells more about her when she was growing up with diana and flo(primetes), and how the supremes were in the 60"s. In my life as a supreme she tells about the supremes in the 70"s . I recremend this book for all supreme fans and all motown and music ,lovers:>

Summary: Mary IS Supreme
Review: I first read the DREAMGIRL section of the book back in the late 1980s, and I have to say that I was completely unaware at that time of how treacherous Diana Ross was in her bid for fame. Being a Ross fan, I was hurt to know that she put her need for attention and fame ahead of her friendship with Mary, Flo and other people that helped her out in the beginning of her career, such as Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams of the Temptations. Maybe Mary had written the book at that time as a means of gaining some attention for herself, but I also think that it was something people needed to know. Plus it was a way of attempting to let go of the anger and frustration she had bottled up inside.

The SUPREME FAITH part of the book, which I read just recently, I found to be very open and honest. Many celebrities don't want the public to know that they have flaws, nor do they want to acknowledge to themselves that they have them. However, I was wondering why she allowed herself to continually let her husband abuse her. Being a survivor of domestic abuse myself, I felt bad for her, thinking that her love for her husband could conquer all, or that she could change his behavior. But I still enjoyed this book. It was obvious to me that Berry Gordy didn't care about what happened to the Supremes after Ross left, and just wanted them to die. Props to Mary for being the TRUE Supreme all these years, while a certain someone wanted to forget that she was ever a part of the group that made her a star.

Summary: Poor Diana ?
Review: I happened to be reading the reviews and really thought what Crap Just another way to bash Diana? The Supremes were no more in 1967. Diana Ross and The New Supremes began in 1967-68when Flo was asked to leave.I am a big fan of the Supremes and I also a Fan of Diana Ross, So I did'nt understand when there was news of Diana getting back with The Supremes. When no amount of Money or Fame that Diana has can pull that off. Maybe it was suppose to be Diana Ross and The New Supremes. The Supremes will never be. They ended the Day Flo. Died. The Supremes sound will never be anything but old recordings from 1963 to 1967 When you listen to those recordings there's Diana, Mary and Flo. That was the sound that made The Supremes GREAT> Without Mary and Flo in the those recordings Diana would not be where she is today. All you have to do is listen to THE SUPREMES

Summary: Pretty good set.
Review: I read these books about a month ago, and they were good. It was nice to see the Cinderella story of the Primettes turned Supremes although I am not a huge fan of girl groups. I enjoyed Dreamgirls way more than the second book though.

I liked that she mentioned her humongous crush on my favorite Temptation, Eddie James. Also that he was one of the first people to visit Flo when she fell on hard times. It's nice to have others say nice things after you when you are long gone

Now about Flo, that was such a sad situation. I can only imagine what it was like for her to bring Diana into the group and slowly watch her push herself to the front---and then have BG push her along. I applaud her for standing up to them, but I am sorry that it didn't work in her favor. It seemed like Mary was too passive in the situation though. If she and Flo had stood up to BG, things might have been different. Flo had so many fans. the parts about her are incredibly sad.

People say that Flo died of a heart attack as well as a broken heart and I am really inclined to agree.

All in all, a good book. I recommend this one.

Summary: A Testamonial to Love
Review: Mary Wilson does an outstanding job in standing back and just letting the story, the glory, and the sadness flow. She did a good job of letting us see Fabulous Florence Ballard. Even though later, Mary and Florence's vocals were purposely muted, before then, you could hear them sore. And Ballard had a very pretty and powerful soprano voice. They used her voice for other groups at Motown--that says alot about her talent and professionalism. I have to say that I fell in love with Flo and Mary, and especially their dream. That Mary could stand firm and strong after all of this, is what true grit and power is about. You can have all of the fame and money and have power--that's easy. But to get yourself up and keep on keeping on---well, that is the kind of grit we want for all of our children. Thank you Ms. Wilson for telling the truth and revealing our beloved Florence to us. I saw Miss Ross on Oprah recently. I would have not believed any of the unkind things said over the years about her if I hadn't seen it myself. She hogged up all the camera time, with her "replacement" supremes in the shadowy background. Then she had them sit with the audience, while she and Oprah interviewed. Miss Ross had to be corrected several times about the other two women's histories. So sad. An old geezer like her playing like a 1940's Norma Desmond. She has a lot to answer for. And Berry too. They ripped off and hurt a lot of young people and never looked back. Spike Lee; John Singleton, here is your story. Sock it too 'em!

Summary: Congratulations Mary!
Review: Mary Wilson has rereleased "Dreamgirl", the best selling Rock & Roll Biography of all time, along with her second book which focuses on The 70's Supremes & beyond. When Mary wrote Dreamgirl she made history in being the first Motown Artist to break rank with the company & tell the truth as much as it could be told without a lawsuit. Trust me, there IS much, much more to tell. If you compile all Motown related books by those who were there and those who weren't, Mary's rings very, very true. Much truer than some others.

Summary: ...
Review: mary wilson is pathetic...the book is weak...she tries to play herself off as the meek and naive one...but she did nothing to help florence ballard when berry gordy and diana ross called a meeting to oust ballard...she puts diana ross down for dating married men early in their career but she was doing the same with tom jones(MARRIED) and others...but it was love she says... whatever one thinks of diana ross you have to admit to yourself that diana had or has it going on...she can sing and she has star presence...she appeals to all...she was the star of the supremes...mary wilson probably was just chosen to remain by berry gordy for her good looks only...mary wilson's book gave me the impression that she is not telling all and god how can she keep praising that wife beating, gold digging ex husband pedro throughtout the last chapters!!!! SHE PROBABLY WROTE THIS BOOK solely MAKE SOME MONEY and if this is the case should could have written something better than this...!!!!

Summary: Truth Behind the Glitter and Gold Records!
Review: Mary Wilson is the founding member of the world's favorite and legendary girlgroup, The Supremes. In this book, she tells the truth of Motown and how their treatment of the girls either ruined or glamorized their lives (La Ross). This book is very emotional and is the best I've read in years. I commend Mary for being the first to tell the honest-to-God truth. She is the supreme Supreme. If you think you know everything about the Supremes, you best read this book. There are secrets and events here that I've never even heard of -- and I have all of their records! Buy this book, you won't regret it. Trust me.
