Review: I loved this book. It shows that we all make mistakes but mistakes and all we can acheive or goals. It shows that we as people can take the good out of a horrible situation. I think that it is a great for young adults and adults.

Summary: very quick readable biography
Review: I read this book in probably a day and a half and was very moved by the tragic circumstances that the young Todd was subjected to. It is both amazing and wonderful that he could overcome the obstacles placed in front of him at an early age and break away from the addictions that were so prevelant within his career. I have been a true fan since I was in highschool,( which was a long time ago to say the least), and it is refreshing to see an artist that has grown with his audience. Much love goes out to a man who is now an inspiration to our youth.

Summary: A Must Read for All Cool J Fans!!!
Review: I received the book for Christmas and I finished it 2 days later. This book definitely left me wanting more, not because it wasn't enough, but because it was so captivating. I was trapped between the lines of this book and it is great reading material for all LL fans. This tells you all you want to know about Mr. Smith and is really well written. This book sent me on an emotional roller coaster and i reccommend that everybody read this book. Even if you are not a fan of rap or LL Cool J, this book will give you inspiration and also make you take a long look in the mirror to see if you are being the best person you can be. Great Job LL

Review: I was truely impressed by this book. It was well written and very moving. I read this book in one day!!!! It was that good. I was already in love with the entertainer, but this book gave me a glimpse of the "Real Person" I probably would have never gotten to know. I commend the author and also Mr. Smith for his courage in writting the book and coming clean about his past and letting us know where he plans to go in the future. This book will make you laugh and cry and even at times despise L.L. but it's all worth it in the end because this book makes for excellent reading. Again, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

Summary: A moving story!!!!
Review: I was so moved by "I Make My Own Rules," that I had to write and tell others how much they to will enjoy the book. I truly appreciate and commend LL Cool J for telling this story. From the beginning to the end, you feel as though you were there and feeling his joys and pains. He is honest, truthful and most importantly, real about the ups and downs of family life and the public eye. To go through all that he has been through and be able to now be a role model for not only the youth but also young and older adults is an inspiration. Through the music, the television show, the volunteering for our youth, LL's positivity always shines. This book is no exception.

Review: This book was deep and straight foward. I have been a fan since "I Can't live without my radio". LL has had to overcome many obstacles thoughout his life( His father, Step father and a so called friend) No matter what I strongly beleive that was no excuse for what he did to his wife. But LL you are a strong man who knows how cruel life can be. Keep your head up !!!!!!

Review: This book is one of the most compassionate books I've ever read!! This is a great tool for those who have suffered many abuses in their lives!! I can truly relate!!! LL shows a side of his life that has been truly painful to him and his family and he's extremely truthful and honest throughout the entire book!! Review: If you are an aspiring artist this book is a must-read. You can't front on LL. He's been doing this for over 13 years professionally and this book proves that. The book is written very well with humor to keep the reader entertained. While parents may not want thier children to read the sex chapters those too teach a lesson. This book chronicles his journey from a child into manhood. He also discusses some of the politics of the entertainment business. You have to read this atleast once.

Review: James Todd Smith, AKA LL Cool J, lays bare his heart and soul in this engaging and candid autobiography. He tells of his somewhat traumatic childhood that was filled with domestic violence, and the affect that it continues to have on his life. He also gives a realistic, behind the scenes, view of the music industry-the sex, groupies, and drugs. With emotion he tells of a time in his life that he was not proud of, a time when he was young, immature, and had plenty of money to throw around. Smith uses his life to teach the lesson to youngsters that we all make mistakes and to view them as a learning experience. The book also shares some of LL Cool J's opinions about the current state of rap, the murders of Biggie Smalls and Tupac, and other pertinent issues.This book is exciting, inspiring, and heartfelt. It tells a story of one man's obstacles and triumphs to go from a troubled boy to a multi-platinum-recording artist and actor. Readers will walk away from this book with a true sense of both James Todd Smith and LL Cool J.
