Review: This is a quote from the book "I Make My Own Rules",by LL Cool J. This book is a national bestseller. I can understand why,because after reading it,it was positive and influential.It definetly moved me.From the beginning, the book caught my attention. I couldn't put it down.It was captivating.This book should be read by the youth, everywhere. The story is an autobiography of a rap artist named James Todd Smith, better known as Ladies Love Cool James(LL Cool J). It told the story of the world of rap through the years. Also how Mr. Smith endured obstacles in life such as;abuse, neglect, drugs, money problems and addiction to sex. You can read Mr. Smith's rules on relationships, family, religion, music, and his experiences. I learned alot about him,the rap world and life. He did a thorough job in telling his story. He told the truth and nothing but the truth.It was all him,good or bad. This book teaches the readers that they make their own choices in life. Only you can make a difference and overcome difficult obstacles. As said from,Rap Pages; "It shows how you can suceed and stay true to yourself without making your mistakes haunt you." You should always look forward.

Summary: UNCLE L IS WILD
Review: I read this book and I found out that this sexy young man faced a lot of trials and tribulations to get to this point in his life. He showed true courage as he realized that his life wasn't how it should be and rectified the situations. I loved the honesty as well as the detailed time line and family portraits. He is not just beautiful to look at he's "the completed package!"

Review: LL Cool J.'s I make my own rules is a story about his life. James Todd Smith tells about how he is abused as a young child by his father. Later on in the auto biography, he starts to tell us about hpw he gets into the rap business. When he gets into the rap business, he shares with us some of the thigs that occuroff the stage, For example, in one chapter of the story, he says that he goes in the back to the bathroom and haves sex with this lady that he barely even knows in the bathroom sink.
LL Cool J. shares a lot of personal experiences that he has in his life throughout this book.
I Make My Own Rules is a book strictly for those who love that sexy man with that big dimple on his left cheek (LL Coll J.)!

Summary: LL Stands for luscious lips
Review: What can I say the boy is fine as hell. I enjoyed this book. My only problem with it was the fact that he didn't truly cuss in it. The beginning letters of cuss words and then astericks drives me crazy when I'm reading. Either use the full word or don't use it at all. Other than that I thought the book was well written. I found out some things about him that I didn't know. The fact that his mother didn't listen to him when he told her he was being abused made me angry. I wish that I could apologize to him for his mother. The front cover picture will give me many fantasies for a long time. No man should look that good and be inaccessible. I'm glad he married the mother of his children this is what true man hood is about. If you make them take care of them, he has all my respect for that. The book is wonderful so buy it.

Review: This book takes the reader into life behind the star. After reading this bio, it made me love LL even more. It also made me appreciate him for being a good son,father,husband,grandson, and the true star that he is.

Review: In my opinion, "I Make My Own Rules" by LL Cool J is a very insightful piece of art. It describes the possible emotional affects on children as the result of physical abuse. This book relays the level of intelligence and creativity that he has despite of being a high school dropout. LL Cool J is an example of resiliency since he was able to use the gifts that God has given him to overcome adversity. This book provides examples of his resilience. "I Make My Own Rules" also informs the reader of Mr. Smith's personal and family values as well as his outlook on relationships, family, the rap industry and religion. This book gives the reader a good depiction of the rap industry. I recommend that everyone read this book. The words are easy to understand and the messages are clear. I especially think that minority males, teenagers, aspiring musicians and professionals in the helping fields such as psychology, psychiatry, counseling, social work, and mental health therapy should read this book. It gives insight into the struggles of minorities and into the ways they cope with these struggles.

Summary: How time flys
Review: I bought this book to find out about a little girl that I used to know. That little girl grew up in St. Albans, Queens. When I moved away, I had heard that she was going out with some local rapper that was very good. I worried about her then, but I don't worry about her anymore. James married her and they have a beautiful family. I read the book for info, but was pleasantly surprised by Cool J's earned maturity. I like people who are truthful and there is no question as to that point with Mr. Smith. I am almost 50, but I believe that the Smith's are a good example for other rappers as how to live life to the fullest and what is most important. Listen to his words. A good lesson.
