Summary: FAIR isn't -- and they cannot keep their facts straight.
Review: The distortions, misquotations, and out of context examples are easily verifiable as false. This is an attempt to distort the discussion by a partisan group, nothing more. It is sad to see 'progressives' need to lie even to themselves when confronted by easily verifiable facts.

Summary: Great read!
Review: After Rendall gets through with Limbaugh, a reader could hardly take the Bloated Buffoon seriously. Finally, someone checks on the accuracy of his ravings and comes up with the facts. Thank you, Steve!!

Summary: Listen To The Right Howl
Review: That Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot should be obvious to all, but since it isn't FAIR is here to point out that fact. Conservatives hate this book, not so much because of what it says, since as a rule they don't read books, but because of what it represents. The idea that an established authority (no matter how dubious or self appointed) can be criticized is profoundly disturbing to their staid little brains, especially if that authority is on their team. Never mind that Limbaugh contradicts himself, as FAIR deftly points out, the rightists have never read him either. Is Alar harmless? Was the Denny beating portrayed as a race crime? Is the Supreme Court controlled by conservatives? Find out the answers to these and many more questions. Will be a wake up call to those unfamiliar with Limbaugh's right wing distortions. Will be enjoyed by those who are aware. Will terrify his fans, if they dare to read it.

Summary: So . . . Where's the "point-by-point" rebuttal?
Review: Rush? Dittoheads? It's been, what, six years? Seven? You promised us a complete rebuttal of this "fact-twisting" book. Now, what I read in my well-worn copy looks pretty accurate to me. But I realize I'm not the most educated guy in the world. And I haven't logged as many hours listening to Rush as I perhaps should have.

So . . . maybe Rush didn't really say and/or write these things? Or maybe they were true in the first place? Where's the rebuttal, guys? My mind is open . . . I'm waiting . . . .

Summary: 20 million -- more lies
Review: That 20 million listeners figure is a pack of lies, like so much else of what Limbaugh says. That's 20 million cumulative per week ... but it's a DAILY show... so you have to divide 20 million by 5 (assuming the same people who listen on Monday listen on Tuesday, etc.). That's 4 million a day, tops. And if you figure the average listener tunes in for, say, an hour a day, that means he's probably talking to no more than 1 - 1.5 million people at any given time...ratings that proportionately would get him fired as the morning or afternoon drive-time DJ at any station in the country. Don't believe the lies.

Summary: No way to convince the mind-numbed robots of anything
Review: Limbaugh has tried to minimize the impact of this book by saying that of more than 4,000 hours (or whatever it is) of broadcasting in his entire career, all they could come up with were a few dozen mistakes...comlpetely ignoring the fact that the authors very clearly say they only listened for a couple of weeks to amass this string of whoppers. And the lies, distortions and half-truths continue to this day. Has this guy actually gained a new listener in the last five years? Rumor is even Limbaugh doesn't actually believe everything he says on the air....it's frightening that his listeners lap it all up like gospel...

Summary: Hey dittoheads. You've been duped!
Review: Oh boy, where do I start.

Many years ago, when I was a mindless drone in the corporate world I developed a small love affair for a fat, boisterous man who had a TV show. I thought we was so on target and full of information that I listened to every word and couldn't wait to use something from him the next chance I was in an arguement.

After awhile though, I began to feel uncomfortable with all of Rush's quick edits and the video clips ending right before I thought that the "commie-lib" was going to say something else. I even took it upon myself to read the articles that Rush was refering to and watch the news more often hoping to hear the full version of what was said.

Needless to say, that made all the difference in the world. I realized within a month or two that my chubby friend was a liar and propagandist of such magnitude that I was honestly overcome with shame and anger towards myself for falling for it.

I am not going to give examples from the book because you have better things to do right now (hint: buy the book.) Suffice to say that Mr. Limbaugh's love of distorting (ie: only letting the listener/viewer hear what he wants them to) and lack of fact checking have caught up to him.

Bye Rush, it's been a bittersweet ride but I'm not sad to see you go.

Summary: Good Airplane Fodder
Review: I read this book on a plane last week, it's a short and easy read (128 pages). It is entertaining if you aren't a serious policital follower and like sound bites.

I enjoy these type of books to kill time on a plane. The genre that takes a transcript of a public figure, makes the statement an absolute and always out of context, and then refutes it with pseudo-statistics.

I've never listened to Rush Limbaugh or heard of the author, but if I spoke impromptu on the radio X number of hours a week, I am sure that someone could take prove some of my statements wrong.

I recommend it for the fun reading, you will get snickers out of Limbaughs outrageous statements and the authors handwringing responses.

5 Stars for entertainment, 1 star as a piece of literature.

Summary: If you don't want to read this book, you should
Review: Time for the truth, Rush. Get a fact checker. This book is a clear demonstration of what happens when freedom of speech runs amok (or when it is taken hostage by the uninformed and angry). This is a documentation of so many misstatements that I unfortunately hear presented all the time as "gospel truth", "scientific fact". Much of it comes from Rush's own extremely warped imagination. Don't be a "Dittohead". Think for yourself, and resist the temptation to follow this leader into the abyss of the Dark Ages. By all means, read this book.

Summary: There Are Over 20,000,000 Sheep Out There Who Don't Think
Review: My thanks goes to the authors of this book for expossing this blowhard for what he really is. He makes things up, distorts the truth and exaggerates on things just to make himself heard. AND, THERE ARE OVER 20,000,000 LISTENERS ("Dittoheads") WHO BELIEVE HIS GARBAGE! They take whatever he says as gospel, without thinking for themselves, AND USING COMMON SENSE, to check the facts. It's hard to believe there are that many people who don't have a mind of their own. Stop this earth, I want to get off!

I use to date a guy who is a Limbaugh fan. I dropped him because I didn't want a non-thinking sheep for a mate. A person who believes this guy is a person with no real intellect. Are you a limbaugh fan? If you ever decide to use your brain, read this book. It is filled with FACTS that tell the truth about this big mouth, know it all. And if you think this is book filled with lies, why hasn't Limgaugh sued the authors for "Deflamation of Character"? It's because this book tells the truth.

It's sad that these on-star reviews won't even look at the facts on this guy. The authors did their research on what Limbaugh has been saying for years, and found that nearly all he has said were nothing but lies, half truths and exaggerations. Anyone who ignores TRUE FACTS is a mindless sheep. Has this world stopped yet?
