Rating: Summary: They are definitly not Counterfeit here Review: on "Three dolar bill" Limp Bizkit didn't collaborate with some black hip-hop performers.on this album Dj uses samples and effects in very interesting way.on this album bass and guitar are really amazing - drums too.on this album everything seems better - why? ...Because they didn't sellout. Compositions are agressive ("counterfeit","Pollution") and amazing.Fred raps more melodic and his mighty roar is shocking. As is said this is Pure nu-Metal without the sweet vocals like Linkin Park, without retro-grunge like Puddle of Mud and without the boring psychedelia of Deftones.and of course without mixing This kind of music with hip-hop. Not comercial, not polished.this is Limp Bizkit before hteir pop face which they showed after "Significant other" if you want to have only 1 Limp Bizkit album you can surely take this one.
Rating: Summary: Gutless rap metal! Review: A disappointment as far as i'm concerned, who's idea was it to combine rap and metal anyway? Not that all of it is bad,but the combination here doesn't do anything for me. They cover George Michael's Faith, I like what they've done with that song, other than that a dull album, what for a complation.
Rating: Summary: I HATE LIMP BIzKIT!!.... Review: ...But I really like this album. I'm not a fan of their's at all. In fact I decided to write a review of this album after listening to their latest one (Results May Vary) which I thought was complete garbage. "3 Dollar Bill" I think highlights Limp Bizket in all thier glory. It's raw, it's aggressive and it's funky! The band does a great job of changing it up throught the songs. Wes surley had the musical muscle and creativity in the band as you can see by how bad the new album is. If you like this CD, pick up Biohazard's "Urban Dicipline" which I would say is THE birth of rap/hip hop/ metal/hardcore. Even predateing Rage Against the Machine! Good stuff...
Rating: Summary: Aggressive... Review: I got this CD about a year ago and since then have listened the ... out of it. I'd never been into Limp Bizkit, even though I'd heard about them. I'd heard versions of rap-metal, but i'd never heard it done this aggressivly before, with much more hip-hop influance. Wes Borland is a great guitarist. DJ Lethal is the man. Fred Durst isn't a bad rapper and has a pretty good singing voice. This si definatly thier loudest and heaviest recording to date, and most people say it is their best- if you are new to them, this is a great place to start! Best tracks: Pollution, Conterfeit, Faith, Sour, Stink Finger, and Indigo Flow.
Rating: Summary: this is an explosion not a debut Review: basically this is more of a rock record than anything else. there are bits of funk and rap and hip hop to flavor the soup but ultimately this is a rock record. as i have stated in other reviews by this band, i think the music is the foundation of the band. one really extraordinary drummer is the heart and soul of this band, one groovin bass player to hold the madness together and one amazing guitar player who whips out some heavy riffs and great chord progressions. on top of all that you have fred durst who is a unique frontman. he is not singing or rapping or covering any new ground but then again neither is the band. it is the conviction and intensity in which this band explodes that makes them great. it is the coming together of all the pieces that makes this puzzle worth your time. there are a lot of people who do not like this band and alot of reviews which simply say they suck. i wish they would give me reasons why they think they suck because while LB is not the greatest band ever they still are one of the best in their genre. call it rapcore or nu metal or whatever, LB are one of the first (although not the first ever) to unite rap and rock in the ninities. some metal bands throw in some rap or whatnot but never with the groove LB have. they have one of the finest rhythm sections ever, an amazing guitar player and a charasmatic and unique frontman who drops phat raps over phat beats, can sing and scream and writes lyrics that make you think. COUNTERFEIT is the standout track. it is the heaviest track and one of the heaviest songs they ever wrote. fred sings (and at the end screams) with such emotion. of course, there is the punkified cover of FAITH by george michal which is an interesting choice of cover. not something you would predict. nice execution as well. my favorite is INDIGO FLOW, a short half ballad half rocker in which fred thanks everyone from korn to god for his life. this is the begginning of one roller coaster of a career of the bizkit and a great start for a great band. definitely worth your time, your money and an HONEST listen
Rating: Summary: Majorly Disappointing Review: I was introduced to Limp Bizkit by their second album, "Significant Other." The band's debut, "Three Dollar Bill Yall," seriously ticked me off when I bought it. Not only is the production lousy, but everything on the album is out of control and unstable. Wes Borland is definitely a great guitarist, and this album is plenty enough evidence for that, but his heavy riffs and hooks don't mix well with anything. Fred Durst's lyrics are fast and unpredictable, and sometimes unintelligible; half the time you can't understand him. The album is NOTHING like the band's later efforts ("Significant Other," "Chocolate Starfish"), and instead it seems to emulate all the other rap-metal acts that were scurrying around in the late 90's. The result: 60-some minutes of noise. The record's only big hit was the cover of George Michael's "Faith" ... and Fred Durst still managed to squeeze a "Get the f*** up" into it.
Rating: Summary: this is not metal Review: wes borland made a very smart move when he decided to leave this band. this album has no solos, no shredding, no complex time changes, no speed. this album merely takes the stereotypes of metal, like screaming and loudness, and overused rap lyrics and blends them together. sometimes i wonder why this band even has a dj, the absentee member of the band. fred durst and company only get worse on later efforts. but if you like mtv trl nu metal be sure to check this one out
Rating: Summary: Better than the other two Review: The Limp Bizkit three dollar bill is the best cd in my view. It is a lot more heavy, and less rap tracks. If you like the two new cd's, you most likely won't fall in love with this one. Though if you don't like the new stuff bc it's to soft and mushy get this one.
Rating: Summary: CRUD Review: Probably the least viscous of the LImp Bizkit CD's, even a glance at the violence in Fred Durst's lyrics here and you wont wonder why that girl was trampled to death in Sydney. Limp Bizkit is the worst music ever made. No doubt about it in my mind. The themes of violence, paranoya and anger leave the listener feelind angry and unhappy. Not how music should leave you feeling.
Rating: Summary: the bizkit's all gravy Review: back to the good old days before fred durst and limp bizkit put out total nonsense ("chocolate starfish") or taking long hiatuses (2000-2003), there was the "three dollar bill y'all". fred and his boys continued in the hardcore footsteps of rage and korn and incorporated rap lyrics into their music. however, they not only did it but also mastered this art. evidence of this would be the cukoo song "counterfeit", with fred shouting his rage to all the fake people, and "pollution", by far the best most raucous track on the album. the bizkit also do a tremendous cover of george michael's "faith" which makes for the big single. some other standouts are "stuck" and "stinkfinger which display limp bizkit's sound to the fullest. this album should not only be in the books but in your shelf, too.
