Rating: Summary: What happend to heavy metal?? Review: The main thing I have against this cd is the guitar and bass sounds like it has a cold. I dont know how they have them tuned or what petals they use but the sound is just plan annoying (especially on counterfeit) If you want to hear real heavy metal try METALLICA, MEGADETH, OZZY, or IRON MAIDEN.
Rating: Summary: Anger WAS a gift. Review: Let's face it, this cd showcases the true rage of Fred Durst without trying to be something he's not. And sadly enough this is the first and probably the last good Limp Bizkit cd. Songs like "Nobody Loves Me" and "Stuck" are true pain and anger anthems that weren't faked. Other great songs on here would be Counterfeit, Sour, and Leech. Now the Bizkit has just gotten Limp, S.O. was Fred trying to be sensitive and basically something he's not. I highly suggest this over S.O. If you like this cd I would highly suggest Snot, (hed) p.e. and Crazy Town.
Rating: Summary: one of limps best cds ever. Review: If you like Rap or Rock you will love this cd.Its the best and so is Fred.Just buy the cd.
Rating: Summary: Better Than Significant Other ! Review: This is Limp Bizkit at it's best, Significant Other is mostly rapping, and face it, Freddy Durst can't rap! I mean eminem runs many a circle around Fred in that area. But on this CD, Limp's first, Fred actually does mostly hard rocking aka. what he is good at! I you compare "counterfeit" from this CD to say "N 2 Gether Now" you'll realize what fred is better at. So I guess that's it, get this CD, you'll not be dissapointed!
Rating: Summary: Raw POWER! Review: This CD is raw as hell. I love when Fred Durst screams thru the whole thing. The guitar riffs are killer and it's just flat out AWESOME!
Rating: Summary: Very good-selling debut effort Review: I am a fan of Limp Bizkit, and after having bought SIGNIFICANT OTHER, I was impressed with the bands ability to write good songs and make good, hard sounds and lyrics. So I decided to buy the album that made them famous. When I first got it, I listended to songs number 2,3,4 and enjoyed them very much. Then I listened to songs 5 and 6 and thought that they were okay. . .but then I listened to the other songs and most of them were pure rap (With the exception of "FAITH" and "LEECH"). Song number 13, the last song is a thirteen minute waste of life, that is so overwhelmingly slow and boring that it was obviously used just to fill time on the album. But none the less this was a GREAT CD! Out of 13 songs, I think that about 7 or 8 songs are definitely worth listening to. As for the question of "is it worth it to spend the money?" Absolutely... if you're a metal fan, rap fan, or both.
Rating: Summary: Fairly good debut Review: This CD is nothing like Significant Other, but I like both CDs."Sour" is way too short, as I liked what was there a lot. "Everything" is way too long, as there is nothing worth listening to in that song. "Pollution" is the best song on the CD, with "Counterfeit" and "Stalemate" coming very close. All of the songs on this CD are good except for "Stuck", "Leech", "Everything", and "Stink Finger". This is a fairly good CD, but it's not as good as Significant Other.
Rating: Summary: This started it all! Review: This is the CD that started the new rock craze. It converted many rap fans to rock fans. Limp Bizkit is responsible for the whole rock scene using rap with rock beats. This whole CD rocks and Fred Durst proves why he is the premier vocalist in rock today. He appeals to everyone. This CD is a must have for any rock, even rap, fan. Fast-paced, up-beat, motivating Cd. Perfect for blasting in the car.
Rating: Summary: Buy this only if your a real fan of Limp Bizkit Review: This is a really good CD. Indigo flow is the best song. This CD is nothing like Signifigant other so if you bought the other Limp because of the song Nookie don't get this one.
Rating: Summary: Decent debut Review: Limp Bizkit is the perfect example of a band with little talent, yet has succeeded in the music industry. There are several reasons for this anomaly. One, they were introduced by Korn and their album was produced by Ross Robinson. Two, they surfaced during a time period when "rapcore" was getting popular, although Korn and the Deftones do not fall into that category. Finally, and most importantly, the band Limp Bizkit has phenomenol stage presence and an incredible live show. Unfortunatley, this cd does not caputure that energy or intensity. The sound quality on this cd is terrible, sounding more like some kind of garage demo than a major-label debut. The sound is very raw and downtuned, an unfortunate trademark of Ross Robinson. The music itself is a hybrid of hip-hop meets heavy metal in the Sepultura tribal type vein. Featuring aggressive beats, chunk-filled riffs, throbbing bass, and accented by the amazing scratching, Limp Bizkit's sound may not be original but it is tempo-laden and nonstop energy. The song structures are simple as well as the music but the flow is there, although limited. Fred Durst has an amazing stage precence. He knows how to get a crowd riled up which is very important. However, as a songwriter and a vocalist, he has much to learn. He cannot rap, his lyrics are simplistic, almost childish featuring idiotic rhymes, and his voice has an annoying sounding quality. The only strongpoint is his ability to switch to his heavy side featuring some sick screaming. Sure, he may talk about everyday issues that people deal with, but the emotion and conviction are lacking behind his words. To say that this is one of the best cds out there today is beyond me. Sure songs like "Pollution" and "Counterfeit" are awesome featuring cool riffs, high energy and in-your-face choruses, but the rest of the cd is sorely lacking. "Stalemate" is another very good song, more dynamic with just a cool groove. "Stuck" is also decent. "Leech" which is a cooler, heavier song, and supposedly a demo version, had the same sound quality as the rest of the songs, showing that Limp still had a ways to go. "Sour" is short, but sweet, previewing what was to come from Limp Bizkit. In conclusion, a couple of very good songs, then some fair efforts, nothing special. Aside from DJ Lethal and Sam Rivers, possibly Wes Borland, Limp Bizkit has very little musical talent. What they are lacking in talent they more than make up in style and energy. If this was a concert review, the rating would be higher, but it's not and this cd is just not good enough. Sounding like nothing more than a demo, Limp Bizkit merely showed that they had much farther to go if they wanted to become a staple in the music industry. While they do the rapcore thing decently enough there are many more bands out there that may not be mainstream but do the entire rapcore thing much better. Examples: Superheist, Madhops, Spine, Papa Roach, Primer 55, 20 Dead Flower Children, Frontside, and Greedy Edna.
