Review: Sadly, this amazing, mind-expanding collection of work is out of print--it shouldn't be. I first came across this book in college, and never in my life had I seen such a funny, audacious, shocking, honest and passionate collection of work--especially by female cartoonists. For those of you who think female-oriented cartoons means "Cathy", this is a must-read. True-blue underground work that could put R. Crumb to shame--the "bad-girl art" in the title isn't an exaggeration. Some of the greatest cartoonists today come together in this volume--Mary Fleener, Carol Lay, Carol Tyler, Julie Doucet, Krystynne Kryttyre and more. I also recommend this for people who think comic books mean men in tights. Try to find this book! It'll knock you flat.
