Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: don't waste your time reading this dribble! Review: In no way do i consider myself an amazing poet, but i do know what i like, and Ashanti's book is not that! Every single poem sounded the exact same. in fact, i think it would have been quicker, and more enjoyable to open up one of her c.d cases and reading her lyrics...as they could very well be considered her best poems. There were basically no mechanical devices, no hidden meanings so it was very easy to read, but in the same sense her poems have no point to them. Her lack of substance makes me wonder how her writting is even considered poetry. In my opinion they are just lines of emotional nonsense that could have been written by anyone. I read this book as a poetry assignment at school, and found it VERY hard to even find poetry characteristics within it! Even the rhyming scheme is not constant or even understandable. sure it may sound great when made into a song, but for straight poems, it sounds horrible! Ashanti has an amazing voice, and i pride her for her courage...but please, no more books! Her writting hurts my brain.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections on Love Review: In the book Ashanti talks aboout falling for a guy,who she was kickin' it with for a while. In "No Words" she describes the feelings that she has for her new fling, while riding on a hot summer night. Spirited, moving and often filled with humor, Ashanti's poetry and reflections will entertain and surprise as he offer an intimate look into the life of one of today's most popular performers. These are works that are both lyrical and raw,and tell the truth about love. Ashanti presents her poems about love, along with stories about what (or who)moved her to write them.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Ashanti this is not great poet at all Review: It seem like Ashanti tried to do the same thing that T-BOZ did with "Thoughts" and Tupac with "Rose in the concrete". Ashanti booking does not flow well. Her poems are very stiff and simple. A child in grammar school could write these types of poems.Well her songs are the same way, so I'm not surprize. If she interested in a career of poetry then she needs to analyze Shakespere, Maya Angelou and Alice Walker.

Review: Never would have I ever thought that we would live in a society where minors control what we consider to be popular, worth reading, or worth hearing. When Ashanti took on the title of "Princess of R&B", I said, "Ok, I will let that one slide because the kids probably gave her that title". But now a book?! What is going on?! I fail to understand how people with very little talent, or rather very little talent in the areas that they are pursuing, can become such big names. When I read "Passing" by Nella Larsen, I Know Why The Cage Bird Sings by Maya Angelou or when I hear music by Mary J. Blige or the old Whitney Houston, I feel moved, I feel these people have something to say. But when I read and hear Ashanti, I feel like what the heck has society come to when they define this as talent? Her book made me feel like I was reading something from an ESL (English as a Second Language) class. The grammar was HORRIBLE, it was truly NOT thought provoking, and the topics, man I have little cousins that have stories that have more substance than what Ashanti wrote about. This book was extremely childish. Ashanti has proven that she is just another girl on the bandwagon of fame. And on this bandwagon she sits next to the Brittany's, Romeo's, Solonge's and others that have made it in the business off of the little children consumers that run the entertainment industry, but are entirely to young to know what real entertainment or talent is. But I do give her credit, she is playing the public really well because she is getting a fat check from it. Thank goodness I bought this copy bootleg! If you want to save your money, DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Her writing may be just as good if not better than her Review: singing. Ashanti does a very good job in expressing her feelings about the various relationships she has been in. Her poems show she is very creative in organizing and expressing her thoughts. While there is debate about her singing, there will be not much debate about her writing. Next Queen of Hip-Hop writing ? Could be!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Incredible, Speechless Review... Review: The Book Was Truly Amazing, It Was Like Reading My Own Journal, Ashanti Expressed Herself, In A Mature & Understanding Manner. I Give It (5 Star's) Because Ashanti Is Definetely Not "Foolish" & I Am So "Happy" That I Made An Investment In This Book. I Would Recommend It To Everyone, Everywhere. Even The Ashanti-haters, I bet you would still find this book truly amazing. "Two thumb's up" Ashanti, I can't wait for you're (Up-coming Remix Album)God Bless & Thank You!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: (really, no stars) MAKES JEWEL LOOK LIKE THE POET LAUREATE Review: There can be only one explanation for why Ashanti calls this a book: she probably hasn't read one before. This is a scam, to put it mildly. There is no poetry here, and I think it prudent to note that there are no reflections, either. So, Ashanti remembers a bunch of ludicrous high school [stuff]; she seems to have come away with virtually no insight apart from "Damn, I had a lot of boyfriends!" Did you know, or rather, do you care that she would have gone to four proms in four years of high school, if only her boyfriend's lungs hadn't collapsed? In addition to the worthless anecdotes, this slim volume contains some of her horrendous "lyrics," characterized by her marked inability to rhyme. "Foolish/Unfoolish" would be fine as an insert in Teen People, but as a thirteen-dollar hardcover book targeted at kids who can neither afford it or know better, it is a sin.... Please, please don't buy it.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Foolish Review: This book is a waste of good paper. I don't even know why anyone one would buy it!. If you want what's in this book go ask a five year old to write something for you. I know that will be much better than this mess
