Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: ...MAKES JEWEL LOOK LIKE THE POET LAUREATE Review: I could think of only one explanation for why Ashanti thinks she's written a book: she probably hasn't read one before. This is a scam, to put it mildly. There are no "poems" here, and I think it prudent to note that there are no REFLECTIONS either. Yeah, Ashanti remembers a bunch of ludicrious high school crap, but she seems to have learned only one lesson, which could have easily been brought across in one sentence: "Damn, I had a lot of boyfriends!" In addition to the inane anecdotes, there are her horrendous "lyrics," characterized by her marked inability to rhyme. I think this book would be fine if it was a prom magazine insert, but as it stands it is a rip-off.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: This Book Is For DIE HARD Ashanti Fans Only!! Review: I don't think Ashanti really put this out to show that she was some great poet, I think she was told by her handlers to put out one more thing for fans to buy. Strike while the iron is hot. This books is for die-hard fans only because they'll be the only ones to really get something out of this. I found the entries to be redundant and wishy washy. In one "reflection" Ashanti is trying to tell young ladies they don't need a man, love yourself, and play hard to get. Then in the next "reflection" she's saying that she wants to be with her boyfriend constantly, it's ok to have a little jealousy in your relationship, she's sneaking out of the house and from school for a guy. Which examples do you want young ladies to follow? It's one thing for Ashanti to write about her experiences but if she's trying to pass on lessons at least lead by example. It sounds like she was doing big girl things at an early age, some girls are mature enough for that but many are not. I give this book 2 stars instead of 1 solely based on the strength of her fans. They'll love anything she does like a true fan would, so I can see how they'll eat this up. Maybe with a little more time and proper editing this would have been much better.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Essence of Poetry! Review: I enjoyed the opportunity to take a peek into a small chapter in Ashanti's world. Poetry comes from the heart of one's life experience. No two people are exactly alike, so who are we to judge the words. Her poetry shows that she is human. She is able to express herself and must be very secure to share this snapshot of life's experience with the world.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Not what I expected Review: I happen to like Ashanti CD but I do not like her book at all. It talks about love but it's nothing really deep all she talks about is how she used to talk on the phone with her boyfriend all the time. This book is not at all what I expected. Please do not write anymore books please stick to writting half way decent songs on your CD and singing.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Love it Ashanti! Review: I highly recommend this book to all who too have 'Reflections of Love.' I enjoyed the creativity expressed by Ashanti in sharing her story and opinions. Although I was able to read the entire book in a little over 1 hour because of the amount of pages I must say that too the book was filled with interest and diversity that allowed me to want to read more. Because it is a book entitled, "Foolish/Unfoolish...Reflections of Love" I can definitely see myself reflecting back on the many inspiring pages on many occassions. I must say that I did disagree with one small section of the book whereas Ashanti's opinion suggest that if you are in a relationship that does not seem to be healthy for you that it would be okay to stick with it if we saw some sought of happiness if we knew this would be the only small happiness we could get or we ever experienced thus far. I felt that she contradicted herself because throughout the rest of the book she spoke of not settling and being strong. We should never settle and believe that sacrificing our happiness in a unhealthy relationship is worth salvaging. This is her opinion in this one section and overall I believe that the book is a must read and must buy. Loved it Ashanti!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Book I Have Ever Read! Review: I just wanna say that Ashanti is daring and she's not scared to show the world that although she's a huge singer/songwriter that she had a childhood also. This album reflect her childhood feeling and I love it.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: HMMM Review: I LIKE THAT SHE IS EXPLORING ALL OF HER OPTIONS AND SHE SEEMS TO BE HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very well done, but too short... Review: I purchased this book at a recent book signing in CT. Ashanti autographed it personally, and her laid-back, down-to-earth personality in echoed in the sweet poems and personal stories in this suprisingly well-written book. Ashanti discusses proms, being stood up, kissing, cheating, jealousy, hope, and falling in love. For such a young girl (she is only 22), her stories and poems are very well written and easy to read and relate to. They reflect her smooth, catchy, and real lyrics to the tracks on her smash album. The poems lack much irony or incredible depth, but they don't sink--they swim. Ashanti's poems follow the common A-B rhyme scheme, which makes them easy to read. You'll find yourself smiling as you read through it (which will only take a few hours, considering its short length). Many people have been bashing this book because Ashanti's poems aren't incredible--but this is Ashanti. She's not Walt Whitman or Emily Dickinson--and she doesn't try to be. Ashanti writes what she means and means what she writes, she doesn't try to be anything she isn't. For content, this book deserves 5 stars, but it lacked in length, bringing it down to 4. Still a recommendation, and worth the money.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Foolish/unFoolish Reflections on Love Review: I really dixliked this book. When you start reading it you are expecting something dramatic to happen. But to me it all seems like elementary school stuff. She doesn't know exactly how to make her stories come alive. In order for you to have a great book, it has to come alive. Whether it be drama or adventure! I really expected more from Ashanti but it turns out that she isn't that much of a great writer at all. So if I were you I wouldn't even waste my time to get up and buy this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Ashanti has skills!!!!!!! Review: I really liked this book. I wished I had bought it sooner. But once I got into writing poetry, I felt that I needed to buy this book so I could get into reading poetry. I really admire Ashanti's writing skills. She is very good with rhymes. I wish that I could flow as easily as she does. You can tell that she's a good writer because she writes her own music and she writes poems, too. This book was really worth every dollar and penny spent to buy it.
