Review: I adore this book. I grew up preppy, was a preppy at university, turned my back on preppyhood for a while but went back to my roots and are raising two preppy's now myself. Preppy's are the same all over the world (I live in the Netherlands. Let's hope they never change.

Review: I didn't read this until I was two or three years from graduating from prep school, but it is quite funny and somewhat true to life, even though it was probably written for a late '70s or early '80s audience. The book is written in the tongue-in-cheek style of other such tomes as Growing Up Catholic. Read it for the humor value and try not to take it too seriously.

Review: I heard that the preppy look was coming back into style, and was told to find a copy of this book. I read this book and laughed so hard I cried. I grew up with these people, I was one of these people... I am still one of these people. I even wrote to an old pal from prep school... and told her she had to read it too! If this ever comes back into print, I will buy a case to hand it out to everyone I know.

Review: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. It's so great. I laughed, I related- it's just awesome. I wanted a copy and got one. I went to ebay! They actually have a first edition hardcover copy of the Handbook for a pretty decent price. Check it out! Every true preppy at heart needs this!

Review: This book is absolutely great! I own a very used copy handed down to me by a friend that said it summed me up in a nutshell. The book begins with the birth of children and the naming process (Buffy, Bif, Pookie, Van, etc.); the selection of a prep school (including the importance of getting kicked out), the "right" activities to participate in, and the right college to attend. Every aspect of prep life is explained in this humorous book. Recommended for the Prep who can laugh at his/herself and the person aspiring to be a prep.

Review: this is without a doubt an awesome book!I lived and died by this book,all thru college,having tried several "styles"I have now slowly returned to my prep roots. This is like my Bible! In college my nickname was "Pammy Preppy" Four Stars and I need a copy badly,anyone who can help? This book should be re-published.

Review: Two years ago I found this book is a small shop in Morro Bay, I read it and loved it. This is a Bible for me and I now realize that all my life I have been a prep. I found another copy at the same store this year and gave it to my sister. The book is timeless and absolutely hilarious. I recommend it to anyone who wants a great laugh and also to those who want to live the "preppy" lifestyle. It is a wonderful book that makes a great gift. I am sad that it is out of print.
