Review: This book made for good reading---- first let me say this book is not going to cause verbal laughter at least every 5 minutes, then again I have never read a book that had. But it is a funny book, but don't expect to be laughing out loud constantly, either way it makes for good reading as I said earlier. Janeane brings in the intellectual touch to the book which I enjoyed, often waxing intellectual on trivial subjects while Ben brought surprisingly well-thought out views on life and relationships--- this not to be taken that he was serious throughout the book--- far from it--- but much of what he said could be used in life. Overall, I enjoyed this book and would and will recommend it to all my friends!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: What a Suprise!!! Review: When I fisrt opened this book, I was expecting Stiller to be funny and Garofalo to be witty. I did not think for one second the book would be taken "seriously" by either. However, I was shocked by the material I was presented. Some was really great, some was extrememly poor. To my suprise it was Stiller who provided me with thought-provoking insight and offered a very well expressed vision of self-empowerment and affirmation, i.e. the "Faster-Mations." Garofalo on the other hand was one of those pseudo-cynics/pseudo-intellectuals that one just cannot stand. She had some great ideas, but she went no where with them. Her extensive vocabulary is impresive, but well over-used. If I wasn't an English major, I wouldn't have understood what she was saying half the time; not to mention her views on relationships and spirituality are just irrational and boring. I am not very religious, but I am very spiritual and I assume she is the same way. There are limits to what offends the masses and what opens their eyes. I guess I just have a hard time believing she is as smart as she thinks she is. All in all, a pretty good read thanks to a stellar performance by Stiller. Rest assured this book will make you think!!!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Stiller Rox! Review: As a big fan of the comedic styles of Garofalo and Stiller Ihad to buy this book. Stiller was his "usual" self puttingemphasized words in quotes which is hilarious! You can almost hear him! The Pak chapter was HORRIBLE though... And as for Garofalo? Her humor really doesn't translate well to paper, she was trying too hard to be funny. And word to the wise: the book is fiction!! Even they admit the part about the being a couple is completely made up! Sorry to burst the bubble
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Amazing!!! Review: Janeane and Ben are fabulous and the book was impossible to put down. I loved the witty and bitter humor and hope to see Janeane do more in the future.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: What a crack up! Review: This book is absolutely hilarious! Take it on your next trip and get totally lost in the sarcastic comedy of Ben and Janeane. Ben's "roadtrip diary" chapter will have you urinating in your pants. An instant classic and must read for Stiller and Garofalo fans.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Can you spell DUD?! Review: It is a shame that this book is a total disappointment. I am such a fan of these two! But they could have been so much more witty and I expected so much more. The reading level was designed for 2nd graders. The letters are big and the chapters are skimpy! Looks like they rushed to meet a deadline. It was an AWESOME concept, and I think they should try again and really spend time on putting it together. They are SO much funnier than this, I know this isn't their best work.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: I GET it...but IT'S not funny! Review: Stop telling me that I'm not hip if I don't laugh all the way through this book. This book isn't funny. The chapter on Deepak and Tupac is NOT funny. It's a 5 page version of Uma-Oprah, Oprah-Uma. Humor is humor - if you have to work hard to laugh at it, it's not funny. This book had a few minor chuckles, but none of the intelligent, crafty wit I was hoping for. As a big fan of both of these guys, I was very disappointed. This really felt like something they threw together, independently of each other, one odd chapter after another. Feh!!!!!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Two stars are all for Janeane's contributions Review: I read this because I love Janeane G. Unfortunately, the material doesn't come across too well on the page. It would be much funnier to hear her deliver it. At least her sections of the book are clever and actually humorous. Although I've enjoyed Ben Stiller's films (esp. Flirting with Disaster), his contributions here are not funny at all.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Nothing Short of Brilliant-hope you get it! Review: The average run of the mill(self important Yuppie)person might not get this-but everybody else will .How about Ben Stiller trying his damndest to find a link between Deepak Chopra(spiritual enlightenment guru)and Tupac Shakur(Hip-Hop artist)over many forced pages.I thought that was the funniest thing I`d ever read until I got hold of the chapter on financial advise wherein one of the strategies is to"Make a Money House". This Book is full of mind numbing comedy and is worth the dinero.
