Rating: Summary: A funnier, sexier Martha Stewart Review: It reads like a gossip column. Dish after dish. And before you know it, you've learned all kinds of wonderful tricks.I bought it yesterday and have already used it for a present I had to get my boss (boring present, but great wrapping/presentation.) The book reads like you're talking to a friend who's got all kinds of great tidbits about the stars. And Laurin's ideas are truly easy to do -- especially for people like me who are intimidated by Martha S.
Rating: Summary: Don't be afraid to use your creativity Review: One of the most refreshing, fun and greatest books ever. Suddently entertaining is all about having a good time, being thoughtful of those around you and trusting your natural instincts. The best moment is when she went for her job interview at CNN and then sent a Tiffany box with a card inside saying "an unpolished gem". Totally reccomend it. Put me in the best mood and motivated me to do things I never thought I would.
Rating: Summary: Don't be afraid to use your creativity Review: This book was so much fun to read. It really inspired me to make my celebrations more personal and memorable. The ideas in the book are so "doable". I am going to have a holiday/New Year's party at my home and I intend to incorporate some of Laurin's great ideas into the party. I might have to take the credit though. Shhhhh, keep that part quiet.

Rating: Summary: The Perfect Gift for Yourself and Your Friends Review: This is a book that everyone should own. It is full of actionable ideas that turn everyday exchanges--from giving a shower gift to hosting a dinner party--into memorable ones. Even more valuable than the scores of original ideas, is the book's underlying philosophy: raising the bar on your gift giving, entertaining, etc., has nothing to do with how much you spend, and everything to do with your attitude. This witty book gives you the attitude and the tools to make your friends and family feel extra special.
Rating: Summary: Why Bother?WHy Not: A Hollywood Insider Shows You How Review: We all want to entertain stylishly but don't always have the budget to accomplish this task. Or so I thought. After reading Laurin Syndey's book I realize that resourcefulness and creativity are all you need. She's given us a helpful map to chart out all the things we need to live life more graciously and stylishly. And unlike Martha Stewart, it's not so complicated...Thank you Laurin. What great tips and what a great way to approach life...

Rating: Summary: whimsical Review: What an excellent book! Simple things come to life. Ideas you wouldn't think about. It definitely serves as an excellent innerway to creativity, as well as a catalyst for further expansion. This is a great piece of work. I love the pictures, and the entire format of the book. I'm waiting for the second edition. Why Bother Why not II?
