Summary: An Angelic Masterpiece
Review: Are you going to Las Vegas? Have you been to Las Vegas? Do you care less about Las Vegas and are you just looking for a great book? Then, Dice Angel is for you.

Dice Angel was the perfect companion on a long airplane ride to Las Vegas. The choice was either watching Stuart Little II or reading this book, and boy did I make the right choice. From the first page, I was hooked and did not stop reading until the plane landed in Las Vegas.

Unlike most other books set in Las Vegas, this book does not use the city of lights (and water fountains) to make the story. Dice Angel is made by incredible characters and an engrossing, fast-paced story....and a few local tidbits about Las Vegas thrown in for good measure.

Plain and simple, buy this book. You will not be dissappointed.

Summary: Dice Angel
Review: I enjoyed this book. It was one of those books you start to read and don't want to put down until you are done. Its an easy, enjoyable read and I felt like I was there, in Las Vegas, for the time it took to read the book. The main character is enjoyable and you really feel for his troubles. It has a great (and unsuspecting)ending.. A really good read!
I am looking forward to the next book this author writes.

Summary: A sure bet!!!
Review: Got my copy of Dice Angel yesterday and finished it this morning. Great book! from Mandalay Bay to Golden Gate, you can actually feel as if you are back in Vegas for a day or two even if you have never been there. Brian writes the book in a way that puts you into those places we all love so much. from the lights, to the bells ringing, coins falling, people screaming. it's all there. A must read for any Vegas fan missing that oasis in the desert. For those that have never been to Vegas, no worry, there's plenty in there for you too. I'd bet the house on it.

Summary: Winner Takes All
Review: Brian Rouff's first novel, "Dice Angel," is fast, fun, and full of flavor-from the dialogue, which is so real I thought I was on the south side of Chicago, to the frenetic pace of the plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope it is one in a series and provides us with more of Rouff's realistic view of little known pockets of Las Vegas.

Hurray for you Brian Rouff, you beat the odds with this one!

Summary: An Amusing Look at Las Vegas
Review: With his novel _Dice Angel_, Mr. Rouff has provided us with a humorous and touching portrait of Las Vegas and the people who inhabit it. Beginning with Jimmy Delaney, who has inherited a neighborhood tavern from his father, we meet with a cast of characters who personify all of the downbeat and offbeat aspects of the city. From the opening lines, we know that Delaney is headed for trouble and is quite capable of making it worse on himself with his brash behavior. From the break-in that knocks his tavern out of a weekend's worth of revenue to the final ultimatum handed down from Stanford Poon, the rogue IRS agent who threatens to take his tavern away for good, Delaney sinks deeper into his self-made mess. Fortunately, the generous side of his nature is rewarded, and he begins to take action for himself, beginning with his visit to the mysterious Dice Angel. The ending takes several surprising turns before the rewarding payoff. I hope to see another book soon from this promising author.

Summary: This guys next book will be on the bestseller list.
Review: I took this book with me on a trip. Since the airport wait is two hours......I was almost done before my flight left. Dice Angel is gripping and catches you on the very first page. I just wish it had been longer. I was really disappointed to find I was almost at the end.

Since John Grisham's first book "A Time to Kill" was originally printed in paperback, I am expecting to see "Dice Angel" in hardback after Brian finishes his next book. Eventually, Brian's name will be synonymous with the bestseller list.

As someone who reads Cornwell, Grisham, Clancy, Kellerman and numerous others, I wasn't expecting much from a Henderson/Las Vegas local. I was REALLY wrong. You will enjoy this book immensely and find yourself waiting for the next one.

Summary: Light and Fun
Review: Jimmy Delaney runs his deceased father's bar in America's most infamous city, Las Vegas. After a break-in and related embezzelment wipes out his savings, Jimmy has to scramble to not end up as a homeless man on the street. But a homeless man becomes his savior in his darkest hour.

See how Jimmy balances his bar, daughter by a divorced wife (you can tell the author really has a kid and is divorced), minimal lovelife and madcap friends at the bar to get to a happy ending.

The best part of this book is the humourous writing tone. The one-liners happen so quickly you really have to pay attention.

But alas, everything is not perfect. The Dice Angel is not introduced till over half the book is over and she seems to be brought in just to close the story happily. Also, there are a lot of loose ends. Significant time is spent with his daughter but it's only a subplot. The crime has a villan but the book starts after his action and he is only described rather than developed through interaction.

This is a light, enjoyable book to read. But the action is somewhat stale and there are no pages that bring you to the edge of your chair. It's just...... enjoyable. And maybe that's enough.
