Rating: Summary: Excellent book, buy it Review: A great supplement to the AD&D game, but not nearly as complete as Players Option: Combat and Tactics as far as the weapons and armors went. The weapons/armors that were mentioned, however, went more into the usefulness, history, and advantages/disadvantages than Combat and Tactics did. Good drawings, too.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful supplement for DM's and Players alike. Review: After years of playing without knowledge of several weapons and types of armor listed in the Player's Handbook, this particular sourcebook has helped everyone in my playing circle out tremendously with detailed descriptions of armor, weapons, archaic clothing, and several useful tools of trade. A simply delightful sourcebook and a must for any playing circle.
Rating: Summary: Excellent guide to the weapons of the fantasy world! Review: Excellent book with many diagrams and pictures on the weapons and armor
Rating: Summary: A source of useful information! Review: For those who need a little more detailed look at armor and how it was historically used, this is the book for you. With illustrations, and information for most items, and a larger table then found in the PHB. This book will give anyone that extra edge when describing there character. If your into the historical usage of weapons and armor, and your trying to fit specific types of armor and weapons to a specific date or setting this will assist you as the DM. I will only give this 4 of 5 stars because it lacks the extra knowledge I was seeking for new innovative items, a larger magical item extension, and campaign examples. Howerver, with all the information I would like the book would be a few hundred pages larger, and would sell for a much higher price. For it's worth, it's worth it's weight.

Rating: Summary: OK Review: I appreciate this book for more for the historical information provided in this book than for the rules; that's why it rates a four. If you are just looking for new rules on weapons, then this isn't the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Arms and Equipment Guide (Advanced Dungeons&Dragons, Dungeon Review: I had been searching for this book for a while, so when I finally acquired it, I was looking forward to making the re-acquaintance with this accessory. On reading the guide more thoroughly I was both impressed and disappointed. Impressed by the comprehensive history, more comprehensive barding coverage, addition of detail, and expansion of the often dubious area of spear/pikes & damage they inflict. However, once the euphoria of looking in these areas and descriptions of weapons and arms, the document disappointed as a whole. It had little that would add practical elements to adventuring, and would probably only stand one or two thorough reads, weapon summary excluded, and that alone does not make for a lasting document. A great idea, but could have been advanced further then it has been in this production.
Rating: Summary: Not just boring info Review: I think the Arms and Equipment Guide is essential for any player or DM. Descriptions and illustrations are very useful. Also gets players and DMs to open their minds to more uses for the items.
Rating: Summary: Accurate and very useful Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this book. It contains accurate, relevant, and useful data pertaining to any and all equipment, weapons, armor, and other miscelaneous things necessary in order to create an historically-accurate gaming experience. Some of the areas could have used more fleshing-out, and some cultures' implements have not been described as well as they should have been, the book is probably the best that could be done in the space alotted.
Rating: Summary: Could come in handy Review: I was a bit suprised becose of the babble about every thing. Every armor has one entire page of text and another page for a drawing, still it adds a few weapons that I was suprised that were not in the Player's handbook, for an example Bolas and Caltrops
