Summary: What a waste of time for the reader and the author
Review: My first car was a 1962 VW Convertible and I owned two other bugs and a Karmann- Ghia, I've been a car enthusiast all my life. This book is a snorer. 25% of the book is as follows: "I always thought Bugs were cool." "I decided to buy one." "I found one." "I bought it." "I drove it for several years." "I loved it." "I had some not particularly interesting incidents while I drove it." "I had to sell it." "I miss it." There are, maybe, five or six mildly interesting stories most of which could be told about any car. Few of the VW specific stories are of interest.

It was a waste of money and time and it makes me suspicious of any reader reviews. From now on I'm going to be very suspicious of 5 Star reviews.

Summary: Sweet Memories
Review: Picked the book up. Read it. Every word. Certainly didn't expect to, but the darn thing is infectious. I am not a Bug freak, not even a motor head. But I lived through the sixties and my own experiences with several Beetles. Mine were nowhere near as interesting and amusing as the yarns in this book. This is a great light read for anyone who can relate to the almost religious fervor that revolved around a really neat car.

Summary: Fun!
Review: You definitely will want to not only buy this book, but share it with your friends because they probably will see themselves as kids when they read about all the goofy stuff people did with their Bugs. By the way, this book isn't just about Bugs, it's about VW "hippie" campers, too.
