Summary: Ms. Whitlinger has obviously never been a bride.
Review: I truly don't believe most brides would be happy to see the bridesmaid dress from their wedding "recycled" in a manner that appears to be mockery disguised as "humor". The juxtaposition of the gold dress against the various random locales is self indulgently ludicrous, and I would be mortified if one of my old bridesmaids were to use the dress from my special day in this manner. Having also been a bridesmaid, I simply can't relate to the notion that there should be any other use for a bridesmaid dress. I would instead gratiously decline the invitation to participate if it's just too much to bear (whether economically or psychogically) that the dress can't be worn again.

Summary: A Refreshing Change to Traditional Gifts
Review: I'm sure I'll get more of a reaction after giving my bridesmaids this book than after they open the jewelry I'm also giving them.

This is hilariously funny and I would recommend that any bride with a sense of humor consider giving it to their bridesmaids along with the more "traditional" gifts.

Summary: Get a life, I notice that only one dress is worn.
Review: If the author has only been in one wedding party, I can see why. What is the obsession with this particular dress? Jealousy? Anger? My fiance laughed and then thought "Have I picked out dresses that will invoke this respone? Would anyone I consider a friend do this to me? Give me an idea what type of emotion drives such an obession.

Summary: If you can't wear it anywhere, wear it everywhere!
Review: If these pictorial adventures help just one person go to her closet and give a forgotten, unloved garment the light of day, then my job is done! I live for the moment when while grocery shopping or performing some other mundane task, I see a woman clad in a long gown complete with butt bow and bustle. You go, girl! As a former fashion writer, I never thought I would one day make a pseudo-career out of wearing the SAME dress over and over again. But, I can honestly say that I DO love my gold bridesmaid gown - it's as familiar (and comfortable) as a pair of old jeans. Admittedly, wearing it everywhere is kind of goofy (I prefer the word creative) but it is frequently amusing and has actually made people laugh for almost 11 years. Let's face it, life is hard. If you can concoct something that is totally harmless and derive some humor from it then why not? Being asked to serve as a bridesmaid is indeed a privilege but rarely an opportunity to get a stylish, useable dress out of the deal! And that's perfectly okay. Bridesmaids wear dresses that (hopefully) embody the pagenatry of the day. So what if the dress matches five others and that the dyed-to-match shoe color slowly stains your ankle. I DO love being a bridesmaid because participation symbolizes my admiration and approval of the union (plus gets me preferred seating and service at the Head Table) If you have an idea for a Gold Dress picture (that is NOT illegal, immoral, obscene or will not make me look fat), email me at rebccc@sgi.net. For suggestions about how to plan a 'once is not enough' charity fundraiser that invites guests to sport something they would ordinarily be unable to wear again, use above address. By the way, a portion of my proceeds is being donated to the Burger King Cancer Caring Center, a Pittsburgh charity providing free support services to cancer patients and families. Hey, thanks for reading this far!!!

Summary: Rebecca has put a smile on the face of every bridesmaid!
Review: My friends and I enjoyed every page and picture. Rebecca has taken a fun, lighthearted approach to an age old dilemia, what to do with a bridesmaid's dress once the wedding is over! And, not only do the readers benefit from the book, but so does the Cancer Caring Center!

Summary: Looking for ideas
Review: My wife has a closet full of dresses from her days as a brides maid. I bought her the book just to find ideas about other uses! From the initial read I think Ms. Whitlinger is on to something very big!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: funny and practical
Review: Now I know what to do to spruce up my home for every major holiday...Use my gowns from the 5 weddings that I've been in! Thanks Rebecca for making me laugh. I'll now be able to say yes to the next friend who asks me to be in her wedding (and secretly know that I'll be able "use that awful dress again"!) I've recommended the book to all my friends.

Summary: Off-the-wall but funny!
Review: Nyuk, nyuk! A very humorous look at one of the inequities of traditional weddings. I've been in my share of wedding parties and took my tux back to the rental place after each one. Meanwhile, my wife has amassed a small collection of dresses that will never see the light of day. Thanks for giving voice to her frustration. Laughter is good medicine, and this phenomenon is obviously bigger than my wife's closet!

Summary: A must for anyone who has EVER been in a bridal party!
Review: Rebecca Whitlinger is hilarious! This book is a perfect and light-hearted gift for any wedding-related event.

Summary: A Hilarious New Take on an Old Problem
Review: Rebecca Whitlinger's witty take on what has traditionally been a problem is a great read. I'm going to give them to bridesmaids at my wedding as gifts! Her creativity is impressive. The photos are hysterical in and of themselves. Never again will bridesmaids be able to bemoan the dresses they are forced to buy! Now there's an answer!
