Summary: A Witty Delight
Review: It is very rarely that I am so touched by a piece of literature as when I first read How to Heal the Hurt by Hating by Anita Liberty. The book is a combination of poems, diary entries, and random thoughts perfectly put together. When her boyfriend dumps her for another woman, Miss Liberty deals with this in a very sardonic and witty manner that had me rolling on the floor in tears. This is mainly because I have experienced similar situations, and I could relate to the book's contents on a very personal level. I always keep a copy nearby for when I need a quick pick-me-up. Miss Liberty is a master with the pen, and I applaud this masterful delight.

Summary: Slim Read
Review: Like what's plaguing television actresses, this is a skinny, insubstantial, and hungry book. After reading it...well, what I could get through...I had a big meal so that I'd feel better. Let's aspire to something higher (oh look, I'm a poet too!).

Summary: Yet another bitter man-hating feminist in denial
Review: Ms. Liberty misses a crucial fact: Women need to grow up and stop thinking that men who are abusive and unfaithful are "sexy, bad boy challenges". Men who would never dump her, and would treat her with the utmost respect and equality, are ridiculed and ignored on a daily basis by cowards like Ms. Liberty.

Stop dating jerks. Start appreciating good guys. Case closed.

Summary: Oh how can I not relate !?
Review: My live-in boyfriend of 3 1/2 years left me because he wanted his space...but I think it was a girl named Dana...This book helped me realize that I'm not alone in this world...I recommend it to everyone who has been dumped.

Summary: just o.k.
Review: Not so funny for my standards! So much hate, actually for nothing. I don't suppose this Mitchell had made her done all these "amazing" things for him...she wanted it, and that's why she has done it! I wonder what's soooo wrong about a person falling in love with someone else... if she was less egoistic and not such self-centered....she would be a much happier person!

Summary: Great Satire!
Review: One of the marks of an immature individual - or an immature culture for that matter - is it's inability to laugh at itself. In our day and age, satire is a dangerous genre, sure to get one sued or at least slandered. We as a nation of people seem to take ourselves far too seriously.

As a 44-year old male who DOES pay his child support on time, every month, I think I can speak with some authority to the folks who find this to be just more "male-bashing": Loosen Up! Can't you see that the comedian who created this character is holding up hatred itself to mockery?

Satire is an endangered species! You can help save it by reading this book!!!

Summary: On target!
Review: Really, anyone who has been through a breakup can probably relate with what Anita has to say. This book plays very nicely to the anger stage. So well, in fact, that when my ex-boyfriend happened to see the book in the front seat of my car, he confessed to a bit of nervousness, as he probably wondered to what lengths I was going in order to get over him!

This book isn't going to tell you how to hate your ex, nor do I believe it was her intention to suggest you should use hate as a way to get past such a painful period. She simply voices a lot of the things people can feel while being on the receiving end of a breakup and seeing it in print, with such wicked wit behind it, can be VERY therapeutic.

It even prompted me to do some writing of my own, to fill in the parts I thought were missing from her book! :) At some points she goes a bit off topic and this is what prevented me from giving it 5 stars. Overall this is a great book and one I highly recommend to those who have experienced the pain of heartbreak.

Summary: Shame on anyone who finds this book amusing
Review: Some suggest that this book is only a joke. Hate is never a joke. Ms. Liberty's attempt at humor is unacceptable.
