Rating: Summary: Who's the selfish Genius who hates on target. Review: Hate is good stuff. Problem is not a lot of people really can take the truth that maybe their half responsible... And it goes without saying that anyone who is easily marked as different by appearance saves everybody time by "volunteering" to be hated first.
Rating: Summary: who is anita liberty and what is her mission in life? Review: hello, all you 102:11 readers. if you've gotten this far, you'll notice that no one else knows that anita liberty is a character invented (as in created and performed) by the author. give the book a second read--it's much more fun if you know what's really going on. suzanne weber will thank you for it.
Rating: Summary: Not Good Review: I don't care if I'm supposed to "wake up" and realize this is comedy...IT'S NOT FUNNY! It's just a stupid, bad book. Really passe. Completely over done and totally, oh God, do I have to say it, Been there done that! If you want it, go to my local Brooklyn Salvation Army. It's sitting in a bag marked "JUNK".
Rating: Summary: For Some Women... Review: I finally realized that this book appeals to a small segment of women who have had great difficulty in achieving meaningful relationships with men. Of the few women I know who like this book, not a one of them has ever had an intimate and good relationship with a man (or, actually, with a woman). Anita Liberty must be the same kind of woman, which I find sad. Hell, if it makes some people happy, then I give it two stars.
Rating: Summary: This book is fabulous!!!! Review: I found Anita Liberty's How to Heal the Hurt by Hating absolutely hilarious and she is so, so right in the way she depicts the emotional roller coaster of breaking up. BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
Rating: Summary: Better than chocolate Review: I read this book when it first came out and I've been dipping back into it regularly for years. I've given it to friends going through hard breakups and friends who are blissed out in love. The response is always the same: "What a great book!" It's not just that it is wickedly funny, which it is, but I also found it to be comforting, insightful and powerful. I think all too often it's easy, or safer, for women to mask anger with depression. Anita Liberty lives out loud, and in the process, she tells a hell of a joke.
Rating: Summary: Big Huge Chip Review: I recently ordered a whole bunch of books from Amazon, which were great: Woody Allen, Bridget Jones' Diary, other fantasticly funny stuff. I ordered this book because of all the (mostly positive) reviews posted here (I've never seen so many) but what a disappointment when it arrived. Suzanne Weber (aka Anita Liberty, but really, why bother with a fake name?) has an enormous chip on her shoulder. She'd be funny if she were joking but this book spews real life venom like a New York fire hydrant. It lacks substance, it lacks true wit, it lacks feminine insight. Whatever happened to writers like Dorothy Parker who could scrawl vengeance with unimaginable brilliance? Maybe I'll order her books next.
Rating: Summary: The most hilarious book I've read in ages... Review: I've been happily married for over forty years and still thought that Anita Liberty's observations about relationships and break-ups were just hysterical. You don't have to have just gone through a bad break-up to enjoy the freshness and humor of this woman's voice. I think that one of the reasons that I found it quite so funny was that it feels so true. The author writes from such a specific place. Anita Liberty is living the life we all fantasize about living, being able to tell the truth about what we feel without shame. Bravo!!!
Rating: Summary: helps me all the time Review: i've read this book so many times, and whether i'm dealing with a breakup, breaking up with someone, need entertainment, or in the middle of nowhere in my social life . . . this book is hysterical. it makes me feel better all of the time and has helped me realize the stages of breakup so now i get over them faster. and oh, the first stage after a breakup is that HATE part! and this really gets a good hold on it! this is my chicken soup for the broken hearted!
Rating: Summary: who is anita liberty and what is her mission in life? Review: It is very rarely that I am so touched by a piece of literature as when I first read How to Heal the Hurt by Hating by Anita Liberty. The book is a combination of poems, diary entries, and random thoughts perfectly put together. When her boyfriend dumps her for another woman, Miss Liberty deals with this in a very sardonic and witty manner that had me rolling on the floor in tears. This is mainly because I have experienced similar situations, and I could relate to the book's contents on a very personal level. I always keep a copy nearby for when I need a quick pick-me-up. Miss Liberty is a master with the pen, and I applaud this masterful delight.
