Rating: Summary: Don't take it so seriously... Review: A curious title- being very hurt and wondering if this was really possible I ordered it. The book was so bad I had to toss it in the waste can in order that it not be noticed on my bookshelf. I would like to comment on it's content, but unfortunately, there really wasn't any.

Rating: Summary: Fun if you have a sense of humor Review: A girlfriend gave me this book as a birthday gift. It is very funny! I laughed out loud. "Anita"'s crazy actions allow you to laugh and not do any of the stupid stuff she thinks about. I might not have found it so funny if I was in the depths of true heartbreak, but from the healthier perspective I am at now, it was great fun. I read parts of it aloud to other girlfriends. Great fun!
Rating: Summary: Finally, someone who understands... Review: Anita Liberty has finally been able to put into print some of the feelings I had no description for. This collection of poetry, diary exerpts and advice puts a bit of sadistic humor into a personally painful experience. While not always agreeing with Anita's opinions or her actions, her motives are just. She possesses the ultimate in vindictiveness that we all would love to use, just once... maybe just a little. Her brutal honesty about her emotions and her direct and unyielding attack on her ex is the best therapy around if your "someone special" has left you hurting.
Rating: Summary: "HURT" is "HEALED"...through laughter, that is Review: Anita Liberty lives in New York. She's 30 years old and her boyfriend with whom she'd been with for 3 years, Mitchell, dumped her for some girl named Heather. Now, revenge is the only thing that can remedy Anita's broken heart.Anita Liberty is a fictional character performed by Suzanne Webber. Could it be that Webber was hurt in the past by a loved one? Perhaps. The world may never know. The world might not even care, quite frankly. HOW TO HEAL THE HURT BY HATING isn't meant to be taken seriously - it's merely a performer entertaining her audience in a way that makes it seem more like real life than usual. I read the entire book in one sitting, thinking Anita Liberty was a flesh and blood woman who had actually had her heart broken by some heartless man named Mitchell. I was thinking how pathetic Anita sounded, devoting a book to humiliate and mentally torture her ex. This, however, was prior to finding out it was 100 percent fiction. Nonetheless, I laughed all the while. Her anger and hurt translates to sheer humor on paper. Sometimes, a good laugh is precisely what I need to give me a lift and make my day that much better. Liberty's weapon of choice is simply sharp, satirical words woven into poems and free verse styled writings. She has the brazen courage to say what some of the dumped ones may often think in their minds but refuse to say out loud. This in itself makes Liberty's humor the ideal medicine for the heartbroken (or pissed) relationship survivors. I have yet to be dumped but when the day comes, I'll know exactly where to look for a little bit of consoling. This fluffy little book illustrates a rollercoaster of emotions. In all honesty, I'd say this is a worthwhile read for women everywhere, teen girls like myself included. Just don't take it too seriously.
Rating: Summary: Generation Cynicism Review: As a 21 year-old female in this society filled with beautyproducts and abnormally tall hair-extensioned women, I found this bookto be a welcome relief to my constant frustration with men my age. While it is comedy, it is honest and it does mirror many aspects of real life. ... But let me make one thing clear...her humor may glorify hate in some humorous and cynical way, but it does not advocate violence. If you take this chick seriously, you need to go back to school. She's having fun and you should too... END
Rating: Summary: Bitterness and double-standards abound Review: Consider this glaring double standard when it comes to relationships in this society: When a man ends a relationship, he is "afraid of commitment". When a woman ends a relationship, she is "independent". Ms. Liberty feels the need to ignore this fact. Furthermore, if a man wrote a book like this, it would be considered a hate crime. When a woman does it, it's considered "clever, social commentary".
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Review: For all of you out there who don't appreciate this book, it is because you've never been there. I can relate to Anita's situation and feel comfort in knowing that my feelings are not uncommon! This book was just the picker-upper I needed.
Rating: Summary: YOU GO (HATE), GIRL! Review: Forget (the late) Leo Buscaglia, Dr. Joyce Brothers and--by all means--that hairstyle-stuck-in-the-70s, freaky-sex-change-looking, Bruce Jenner doppelganger, John Gray. Anita Liberty has her finger on the pulse of hateable men. In fact, she may have a razor blade there, too. Here's a chick who knows that the best defense is a good offense, revenge is a dish best served cold, and...well, she knows all of the cliches, but the point is, she also has some pretty good ideas. Anyone with a broken heart will have it stiched up in no time--and be in stiches--by her wickedly wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Great Gift for the recently jilted Review: Gave it to my friend. First time I saw her really laugh since xxx dumped her.
