Summary: Here's another clue for you all...the Walrus was Paul
Review: I haven't finished the book yet, but its so good, I don't want it to end. My music teacher got me interested in all this business about Paul being dead. That was just the beginning. R. Gary Patterson really knows what he's talking about. He has so many instances, examples, and convincing support that you'll really believe that Paul died and someone took his place. I've never been much of a reader, but when I bought this book, I read it for hours and never could put it down. It made me feel smarter, and I was learning something really interesting about the Beatles. I've seen Paul twice already in the last 8 months, and I'm not sure if I believe the hoax. However, the book is a great "real-life" mystery and really gets you thinking. Its a great book for a fan!

Summary: Great Nostaligic Read
Review: I loved reading this book, matter of fact I don't think I put it down til I was finished. For people unfamiliar with Beatle hysteria, it might seem a little odd, but I remember my friend and I going through those "clues" and some things were truly bizarre. We wore out records playing them backwards. We searched through photos with magnifying glasses. I only gave it 4 stars, perhaps unfairly, because I remember some "clues" that aren't in the book. Maybe every area of the country had it's own "clues?" If you know what people mean by "Turn Me On Dead Man" you'll love this!

Summary: 28IF...?
Review: I remember being a little boy when my Mom told me all about the "Paul is dead" rumors, and I've always been fascinated by the odd clues in the songs and album art of The Beatles. The book is a brisk read, written in a fun, breezy style, and there's a color insert so you can see pictures of most of the visual clues described in the book.

It seems too coincidental to me that all of these clues were accidents or misinterpretations; I tend to believe that this was a big joke between John and Paul, and that after the Manson killings it was decided to just keep mum about it; After all, it did sell albums...

It was also fun to show my mom clues that she wasn't aware of. And just try to read the book and NOT go running out to buy some Beatles CD's.....

Summary: Fun to read...except towards the end!
Review: I thought this book was kinda cool. I must say though, the end almost lost me. It went from being a real page turner in the beginning, to a psychological analysis. For that reason, I almost did not finish the book! I wanted to keep the fun part of the book fresh in my head. It took me only a week to finish reading this book, reading it on my daily train commute to and from work. Aside from the drab ending...I really liked it, and discovered some "new clues" that I was not aware of. I would recommend this book to someone who is up for some light-hearted and almost humorous reading.

Summary: Is Paul Dead?
Review: I'm only 13, but I've loved the Beatles my whole life. I've always been interested in the "Paul is Dead Theory". Of course I've never believed it, but, after reading this book I wonder.....is Paul really dead? The author has covered all the clues in detail, enough to make anyone think twice about the PID theory.

Summary: A Fun, "Magical" Mystery
Review: If you like mysteries like the Da Vinci Code, and you like the Beatles, this book is a twentieth century version of just that - cultural clues to a conspiracy embedded in great art. I don't buy in to the whole "Paul was replaced by an imposter" angle, but the Beatles definitely seemed to try to perpetuate a myth that Paul had somehow "died". There is an unusual amount of songs about death and car crashes in their work, and the album covers are ripe with clues. Of course, given trials in the 90s of rock musicians being sued because of hidden messages in their lyrics, this may never be admitted by the Beatles (they have A LOT more money than Judas Priest or even Ozzy). Anyway, this is a fun and entertaining journey into very talented artists and their need to amuse themselves by putting inside jokes into their music. Go ahead, take this Magical Mystery Tour, it's "dying" to take you away, you know. :)

Summary: Minutia unlimited
Review: If you were around in the mid-60's and/or are a student of the Beatles, then you'll find this book "interesting". The author may or not be diagnosable with a mental disorder, but he sure does get into the minutia of the event of Paul's supposed death. I can't tell if the guy is doing this tongue-in-cheek or if he's serious, but you'll uncover more than you'll ever want to know. Though I enjoyed it, I had to give up about 3/4 of the way through. Enough, already!
