Summary: A very good book!
Review: This book is very well write, you get into the story from the minute you start it......If you know the Sex Pistols, Sid and Nancy you will enjoyed even more this book. She got a very bad reputation from the press, you will got a total different point of view about Nancy if you read this book......You will have the point of view from her mother. Nancy was a trouble and disturbed person. Her parents try everything to help her but she was really hard to deal with......I beleive that her parents try everything to help her but they let her have her way too often, ex: She fight a lot with her brother and sister and to stop Nancy tantrum they let her have her way. One time the sister and brother of Nancy asked their mom, why Nancy can do what ever she want and not them? The mother said, Nancy is trouble and a very unhappy person, that why we try to make her life better by accepting what she want to do, also the mother is always saying that Nancy was sensitive, to me she don't seem sensitive at all, she was a real brat, well if she was sensitive it was more toward herself, not others......What else her parents could have do, Nancy was hard to deal with and was uncontrolable. Her parents saw dr, psy, consoler with her but they all say it's was the parents fault and not Nancy one, they said they were not good enough parents......This book is a good reading and like I said if you are a Sid and Nancy fan and Sex Pistols one you going to enjoyed even more this book because you get a direct look at Nancy real life.

Summary: You'll Never Close It
Review: This very shocking tell-all book about Nancy Spungen shows the side of the Sid and Nancy relationship we never saw, and at the same time depicts a mother's endless struggle with an unbelievably difficult child. I read this, and thouroughly enjoyed it for the punk aspect, and then handed it down to my mother, who loved it also for the story. A great read, I HIGHLY reccomend it.

Summary: you will read this book again & again!
Review: i bought this book for the first time several years ago, i can't even tell you how many times i've read it from cover to cover in a days time, it is impossible to put down,Mrs. Spugen's account of her daughters life is so real, so raw and so tragic, it paint's a completely different picture of the upper class "druggie slut" the media so viciously portrayed Nancy as, it is a story of a families struggle to save thier child and stay together,it is also a love story, most people would never have know the depth of love Sid & Nancy had for each other, what is so sad is that today Nancy's condition would have been recognised and treated early on and this tragedy might never had taken place, Nancy was failed by the psychartric community and spent her life in pain and chose to medicate herself with deadly combinations of narcotics in a cry for help, this is a must read, for any Pistols fan and any mother who ever felt the pain of losing thier child.Debroah Spungen is a true survivor, i have so much respect for her honesty & strength.
this is absoulutely one of the best books that i have ever read

Summary: The BEST book I've ever read
Review: I could not put this book down!!! It is the most heart wrenching, sad, depressing, happy, infuriating, love story I've ever read. Not only does it tell about the relationship between Sid and Nancy, but the love of a mother and of a family. She was so different. I've never heard nice things about Nancy Spungen, but this book puts a whole new prospective around her existance. Deborah Spungen did an EXCELLENT job of showing the real Nancy and Nancy's good qualities, but not hiding things. A beautiful, BEAUTIFUL book. I wish I could speak with the author.

Summary: Heart Wrenching
Review: Your heart goes out to Deborah Spungen as she tries and tries to find help for her daughter. Nothing seems to work. How awful for a parent to see their child go through the things Nancy went through. It's crystal clear that John Lydon did not care for her, but did he really understand the problems she had? How alone Nancy must have felt. And to think Deborah's marriage withstood this!! This is a must-read for any Sex Pistols fan, as as well as anyone who has ever felt so alone as Nancy, despite the front she put up. I'm sure even though her family was saddened by her death, I can't help but think of the relief they must have felt at the same time knowing she would not have to live to endure another pain-filled day.

Summary: total trash, and i LOVE it
Review: ok, this book is supermarket trash at its finest. but here's the thing: once you pick it up, it is IMPOSSIBLE to put it down. with a daughter like nancy spungen, you'd expect deborah spungen to spend a lot of time pondering "where did i go wrong as a mother," right? well, not deborah. instead, it's all nancy's fault - "she was a bad seed from the start" - that kind of thing. it's riveting.

Summary: much more than i bargained for
Review: i bought this book initially 2 years ago, and while i'm not a big reader at all, i can never seem to put this book down once i start it. deborah describes each encounter so clearly that it's hard not to share the emotions she conveys throughout. i originally bought this book for more insight into nancy's outrageous reputation, but i walked away with an understanding of a woman who spent 20 years trying to heal her painfully unhappy child. i have recommended this book to many people, and i will continue to do so. i, too, reread this book every so often, and it doesn't get any less interesting each time.

Summary: A powerful book
Review: I read this book when it first came out, and even after all these years, I'll pick this book up oh, every 3 years or so, and reread it. WHY? Because its compelling, jarring, and powerful. I have just canvassed the internet on Nancy, and Sid Vicious. By and large, most of the sites call these two people two of the worst human beings to have set foot on this earth.

This book has reminded me that they were both human and so very fragile. Both of these child/adults were so deep in pain, and there was really no way out for either one of them. Nancy's fate, from the moment of her birth, and all the pain she endured the first few days of her existence, set up the rest of her short life. No matter what Deborah Spungen did to help her child, there was no way to reach her.

I'm a practicing astrologer and therapist. Nancy's birth information was provided in the book and after viewing it, I also saw the pain, the mental disease she had, and also, the gifts she had - she had artistic ability, and deep compassion - but the rage she had when she was born colored everything - she wanted to not be on this planet since she was born.

This book should be required reading for all those who have children like Nancy. My poor copy is dog-earred now,but it was one of the best books I've ever read. I hope that the Spungen family, after all these years, has had closure and healing.
