Summary: An Awesome book!!! you shouldn't miss it!!!
Review: "...and I know this is going to sound really, really stupid - that I've completely forgotten where I've put the tablets..." The quote above and many more puns are found in the book. I give it 2 thumbs up. It is a must for Hard-core humor fans or fans of Tim Allen. Note : Parental guidiance neccesary for children as it contains many vulgar words.

Summary: Tim Allen tries to be a prophet...
Review:
When I picked up my own copy of Tim Allen's I'm not Really Here, I had high expectations. He is one of my favorite comedians, and his first book was hilarious. I wish I could have given his second book the same high marks, but I could not do that in good conscious. After reading his new book, The one thing I wish I could do was take it back. Not only did I not like it; it damaged what I thought of him.

Summary: Tim took some risks, and it paid off.
Review: A fun mix of sincere slice of life fiction, quantum-mechanics, metaphysics, and dumb but funny jokes. I like best the fact that a lot of Tim Allen fans won't like this book. It took guts for him to share this side of himself, and no, he's not a great writer, nor a physicist either: but he does the job and in a unique and entertaining way.

Summary: Quite a pleasant surprise
Review: After reading this book, I have a new and better view of Tim Allen. This review is also to counter the mindless and sometimes rediculous negative reviews by some Amazon.com contributors. Tim's first book was much more comedy oriented. If this had been his first book, the masses would not have believed it was written by Tim Allen, the grunting, knuckle-dragging man-nut from television comedy. Mr Allen presents us with a deep, thought provoking and emotional (yes, there WAS some real emotion here) journey with a douse of fiction which creates an interesting and truly good read. I was thoroughly entranced with this book, and it was not difficult to understand. It did not require much thought or concentration to get in to, yet also did not require that you throw logic out the window to enjoy. Kudos to Mr. Allen for creating a beautiful piece of literature.

Summary: I can't stand people bashing this book!
Review: Alright, I'm sick of people complaining about how bad this book was, to them. I personally didn't find it uninteresting at all, and in fact I knew it wasn't going to be like his first book at all when I picked it up. It's a nice change for a comedian to actually sit down and write about serious topics such as physics and dimensions and quantum theories in ways that make us think, reflect, and laugh at the same time. This was a very well-written book by a very intelligent and assertive man, who truly deserves credit for his willingness to try something different. Good work, Tim!

Summary: The Illusion
Review: Between the lines of narrative Tim Allen bestows upon the awakening his own version of how he was awakened. This book will deliver a message to anyone who reads it. The message delivered will be different for every person. I found myself mirrored in-between the pages of text and am very glad that Mr. Allen put pen to paper and that I had the opportunity to absorb the contents and get one step closer to my own spiritual awakinging.

Summary: Is this the real Tim Allen?
Review: From the first time I saw this book on the shelf, I immideatly pictured the image of the "Tooltime" Tim Allen. The comical father we all love from the TV series Home Improvement. I was very much mistaken. Although the book has an occasional comical side to some of its text, there are areas within the book that quite bluntly bored me to bits. There is a heavy influence on the discovery and understanding of the "physical" world and all the ideas associated with this. The book is very much a personal discovery for Allen and at times, I think a bit too personal because it can lose the reader. Don't get me wrong, there are some extremely funny sections in the book but I feel that they are too rare. Overall, its still a fairly entertaining read, and if you like physics mixed together with some fun - you can't go wrong with this one!

Summary: The Tim Allen We Know Isn't Really Here!
Review: Generally, people base their future expectations on their past experiences. For example, if you like Stephen King's "It," you might be tempted to try "The Stand," because the same author wrote it, and the style and content is something you like.

That rule does not apply to "I'm Not Really Here" by Tim Allen. If you read "Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man" and loved it (as I did), you might expect to also enjoy his next book (also as I did). Don't be fooled!

A better judge of whether you will like this book is whether you loved "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman, or "The Celestine Prophesy" by James Redfield. The reasoning behind this is this book seems to be a cross between the two. The only difference is that "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" was funnier.

Am I disappointed? You bet! If you are looking for the Tim Allen of "Home Improvement;" read his first book "Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man." That is Mr. Allen at his funniest. That Tim Allen is not really here in this book.

And, if you are interested in finding "the Way" of Zen, go straight for the books that deal directly with the subject without pretending to be humorous at the same time.

Summary: Terrible Book, waste of time!
Review: I am a HUGE Tim Allen fan, and though this book was mildly funny, it was very weird and not what I expected. I felt like it was too much of a sci-fi type story with not enough comedy.

Summary: A Sublime Combination of Humor and Metaphysics
Review: I didn't think, as one wouldn't, that a combination of humor and spirituality could be achieved. We are all used to the (excellent) publications of Chopra and Gawain, which wax lyrical on the topics of joy, harmony, peace and being at one with the world..... but of course, only the most gorgeous man on the planet (in my humble opinion), can truly capture the essence of joy..... well done, Tim, you are truly a work of the Divine.
