Rating: Summary: Great facts and trivia questions about each episode! Review: "I Love Lucy: The Official 50th Anniversary Edition, Celebrating 50 Years of Love and Laughter" is a wonderful book filled with photos, facts, quotes, and trivia questions about each of the episodes of the classic "I Love Lucy" series from the 1950s. Each page contains fascinating information much of which I, a die hard Lucy fan, had never heard before. Everytime I flip through the book I end up dying to watch an episode! There are also brief bios of all of the stars and an interview with Keith Thibodeaux AKA "Little Ricky" and some of the writers of the show. My only complaint about the book are tributes from so called "celebrities" of the day...the celebrities chosen are for the most part minor who in a few years will not be remembered..there are only a few of these pages, but I think the book would have been better off without them.

Rating: Summary: JUST ONE COMPLAINT. Review: Being an avid fan of I LOVE LUCY, I was delighted to find this new book available at the booksellers. While there are unfortunately no real surprises in presenting THE classic American sitcom information-wise, I thought that this "coffee table" type book was a beautiful tribute to the 50 year-old legend that is I LOVE LUCY. However, I DO have a serious qualm about the seemingly purposely gauzey and fuzzy "look" of the black and white photographs which are seen throughout the book; they cheapen the author's intent. It seems to me that if author Edwards wanted to present her painstaking work at its very best, she would have included gloriously pristine CLEAR and SHARP black and white photographs!! This flaw seriously takes away from the enjoyment of this otherwise generally excellent book.

Rating: Summary: A great tribute to I Love Lucy's 50th Anniversary. Review: I had just started watching I Love Lucy just a few months ago and the first episode I saw swept me and I became a Lucy lover. When I got this book for Christmas, it thrilled me. It contains a biography of each member of the cast, including Little Ricky. It also has behind the scenes of the writers and contains and explains each of the episodes of I Love Lucy and the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show. Some episodes I just can't wait to see! Although the author made some mistakes, I clearly still enjoyed it and I still look at it from time and time again. Thanks Lucy and Desi, for making I Love Lucy great.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE LUCY... 50TH ANNIVERSARY Review: I received this book as a birthday present, and have enjoyed reading and looking through the numerous amounts of memorable pictures this book has to offer. It takes you through each episode, giving you little known facts about each episode, and provides excellent pictures from each episode. Anyone who is a fan of "I Love Lucy" show strongly consider buying this book!!!
Rating: Summary: 5 stars for content... minus 2 for quality Review: I was truly excited when I heard that this book was being published. The detail and outlines to each and every episode is a treat. Every I Love Lucy fan would be thrilled! However, as mentioned in other reviews, the quality of the photos are a joke! The photos are clouded and hazed, purposely I'm sure, so they can't be scanned and posted on fan websites, Unfortunately, it completely cheapens the book. There is no clarity to the photos whatsoever so you need to read this book in GOOD light. It is truly a disappointment for such a nicely compiled book. Its a special part of my library, but I admit I cringe when I open it up. Such a shame. You may want to scan through this book at the bookstore before actually buying this!! But, if you want some nice pictures from the I Love Lucy series, check out "I Love Lucy: The Complete Picture History of the Most Popular TV Show Ever" by Michael McClay, Deanna Gaffner-McClay. While the content is similar to the 50th anniversary book, it does not include pictorials on every episode, but the photo quality is excellent! Also, check out the new "I Love Lucy Book of Trivia" by Ric B. Wyman. While the pictures are hazed and tinted, the clarity and quality of the photos are pretty good (a lot better than the 50th anniversary book!) and compliment the text nicely.
Rating: Summary: The Best Lucy Book On Earth Review: If you Love Lucy, then buy this book! Nothing else I've ever read about her or her show compares to this. This is to I Love Lucy fans what the Bible is to Christians! I don't know what else to say. The quality of the photos was fine in my opinion, and whatever that might bring down should tremendously be overshadowed by the information provided. A simply fantastic book!
