Review: Within the last month i have read the entire Dragonlance collection, chronicles-twins-next generation ectera, what can a say, ive had alot of time on my hands! I have not been able to put them down and it saddens me that i will have too now wait for the final installment (vol 3) for the war of souls. Im a guy so i dont like admitting to misty eyes when reading a book, but the self sacrafice and love the characters churn out got me going a bit. Glad to see Tasslehoff back in action aswell, still 'borrowing' and absent mindindedly allowing things to 'fall' into his pouches in classic Kender style.Krynn was left neat and tidy at the end of 'Dragons Of Summer Flame' now with the intervention of the 'one god' Krynn is in need of its heroes again, cant wait for the next volume!!

Or do I just want them to leave well enough alone. The book in itself was good read if a little slow at parts, but I can't help feeling a little cheated by a new saga after I thought they had ended things so nicely in Dragons of Summer Flame. I am still anxiously awaiting the third installment as Weis and Hickman are well deserving of loyalty(their's are the only Dragonlance novels I read), but I hope this isn't a sign that they are about to mire themselves in the mediocrity that typifies most of the other Dragonlance novels.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Dragons Of A Lost Star Review: The Night Of The Storm. The huge dragons. The vanished Head of the Conclave. The appearing of the kender Tasslehoff Burrfoot... A lot of things are happening on Krynn, and they happens at a rapid pace. Only a few are searching for the truth, are even fewer can give them that. Mina soon becomes conqueror of the Knight Of Neraka, and her "One God" is worshipped by humans and elves. Goldmoon, Tasslehoff and Palin are among those who seeks understanding. Why has the dead returned? What drives them? Who is this "One God"? And what shall they do about it? "Dragons Of A Lost Star" is a long awaited sequel to "The War Of Souls"-trilogy, and the two original authors does a good job. It is a nice addition to the DL-universe: Exciting and revealing the true name of the "One God" at the ending, this book forces the reader to buy it's sequel "Dragons Of A ???? Moon", which will be available next year (2002). The only thing I'm against is the appearance of Tas. This kender has lived his life, made his heroic deeds and stolen his share of wallets - seems to me they are plucking the hair off the bald. The characters doesn't develope very much, part from the two young Elven Speakers. All-in-all this book is a most welcome addition to the DL-collection, but quite confusing if one has not been reading the previous 117 volumes (or whatever the number is)...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Back Review: Finally a book to give the extremly boring fifth age a jump start. This book was amazing. Mina was very well brought out in this book unlike Dragons of a Fallen sun which made it seem like Mina was some immortal God. I congradulate Margeret Weis and Tracy Hickman I hope the next book in this series is just as good
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: AWESOME Review: **Spoilers!** This is the best book I have ever read. So much happens in this book -- it's crazy! Qualinesti turns into a lake, you find out who the god is -- TAKHISIS!!! Mina is like all powerful, Palin finds Dalamar and he's like not dead! This book is truely amazing. That big green dragon is slain, too, by the elves, and Laurana heroically sacrifices her life to help slay the dragon! It's awesome! And Goldmoon dies too, so now all the original characters are dead, except Tasselholf! But he has to go back in time so he can die, because I think he was the one who screwed everything up by thinking of what it would be like to be dead instead of thinking of being under the foot of Choas when he used the time traveling device. And he sees his own ghost, too! This book is AWESOME! #1 Dragonlance book I have EVER read, and this was my 53rd! BUY IT!!!! It even has some action, too!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Chronicles Continued Review: If you liked the previous books that Weis & Hickman have done you'll love this one. Another Great addition to histories of the world of Krynn.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Must-Buy Sequel!!! Review: Magaret Weis and Tracy Hickman have once again done a great job with this wonderful continuation to Dragons of a Fallen Sun. The suspense and astounding conclusion to the story are major factors in the attractiveness of this book. New faces are made and old faces show up again. The Dragons of a Fallen Sun should be bought first before you buy this, because it places the setting where all the action in this book is gonna take place. Therefore if you are a Dragonlance fan, this is a must-buy and definete recommendation from me, a dragonlance fan, to all you guys out there as it is a new book in the mainstream novels. For Non-Dragonlance Fans, this is a great book, but i would encourage you guys to get Dragons of A Fallen Sun first, and preferably some background read-up on the other mainstream novels in Dragonlance.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: POWERFUL!!! Review: Weis & Hickman do it again. An excellent read, not as good as the phenomenal original Chronicles Trilogy, but it does capture the magic of the original & is definitely worth investing your time in. I really enjoyed the political intrigue that takes place in the lands of the Silvanesti & Qualinesti elves, the imminent destruction of the Qualinesti and the terror of Mina's unstoppable conquering armies keeps you riveted. As the characters who encounter Mina are enthralled by her amber eyes, so does the writing of Weis and Hickman have the same effect on their readers. I could not put down this book until I finished it. I'm not one to ruin the story for other readers in my review, so let me just say it was good to read about characters that I haven't encountered since I read the original Trilogy & that was in 1985. Characters such as the Queen Mother Laurana, the Sorcerer Palin Majere, and Tasslehoff the kender. I also like all of the new characters introduced in "Dragons of a Fallen Sun" such as the Solamnic Knights Gerard uth Mondor & Odila Windlass, & the diabolical Dark Knight of Neraka Medan, Overlord of the Qualinesti. The Dragons introduced such as Beryl, Mirror, and Skie who was introduced in one of the original trilogies, are great characters too. My favorite new character is Mina, avatar of "The One-God", she's a very eery character. The authors' writing is so good you yourself can feel Mina's amber eyes gazing into your soul. It sends shivers up my back every time I think of her. Definitely a fun read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Krynn Rises From the Grave! Review: After Dragons of Summer Flame, I said a sad farewell to Krynn. All the signs pointed to that book's storyline being dictated to the authors by a desperate and sinking TSR. Then came WoTC and new series. Tracy Hickman promising to bring Krynn back to where it belonged. I read Dragons of a Fallen Sun skeptically, hoping the series would restore the quality of story and writing present in the earlier trilogies. While good, it was still chained by the dull and strange shackles of the Fifth Age. With Dragons of a Lost Star the author's are well on their way to fulfilling their promise. New characters like Mina, Medan, and Gerard become fleshed out and engaging. Old favorites like Goldmoon and Dalamar make more than cameo's and take the reader with them on a immersive journey seeking answers about The One God and the future of Krynn. The story is well set up by subtle hints and building momentum that clues in the careful reader to the discoveries coming at the end. Balancing the unfolding story, Dragons of a Lost Star provides plenty of action and dramatic moments. The gripping plight of the elves against the dragon Beryl ends in a truly climatic showdown. Laurana's stand will bring old readers a foreboding Deja'vu moment. A confrontation between Skie and Mina ends surprisingly and proivdes startling insights. Yet just when the forces of evil seem triumphant at every turn the heroes recieve their answers. In so doing, the saga's grand circle draws ever closer together, all but assuring a masterpiece finish to the series. If you are a fan of the Chronicles and Legends, get this book now! With each page the series grows better and better. By it's conclusion it seems set to take it's place alongside the first trilogies as some of the greatest works of fantasy you will ever read.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The review of a '12 year old' Review: Many people have critiqued and stated their opinions on this book and I've read all the current ones that there are on Amazon. I tend to differ with some and agree with others, all on different points. Some people say that Margaret and Tracy are loosing their spunk and creativity and it seems as if they are starting to rush through the whole entire series. I beg to differ. Yes, sometimes it DOES seem as if they're rushing it but it leads to a lot of suspense and action in a compact space. The book was slow at points, but for every slow chapter there was one that had some action. Maybe not a lot, but enough to keep you into it. I used to hate to read until I found this series. I've read 12 books in a year (pretty good for me, when before I only read about two in my life). I love Margaret and Tracy's work. They work together very well and this book was a perfect example. At first, as with everyone else, I hated the Fifth Age and longed for the old 'Chronicle Days'. But by the end of this book, where the most action happened to be, I liked the Fifth Age much more than before. This book earned 4 stars from me, I would've put 4 and 1/2 but there was no 1/2 option. :/ If it had just a LITTLE more action, like the elder books, I would've given it a five. Even though there wasn't a mass abundance of action, there was mystery. (Mild spoilers ahead) I can't believe now that I didn't know from some of the OBVIOUS clues as to who the 'One God' was. At first, I thought it was going to be my favorite character in the whole DL series. But with this god, there seems to be more options of which paths they could take and where they could go with this. Also, it will probably bring back my favorite character to deal with this Petty Immortal. This book was great, nonetheless, and I strongly persuade any person who loves DL to read this. If you're looking to get started on this book, I would read the other books in this order (Soulforge, Brothers in Arms, Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, Dragons of Spring Dawning, Time of the Twins, War of the Twins, Test of the Twins, The Second Generation, Dragons of Summer Flame, Dragons of a Fallen Sun, and then of course Dragons of a Lost Star.) A great book that's a wonderful for all ages, especially old time DL lovers.
