Summary: Celebrate, Celebrate (with a Clean Chuck Negron)
Review: More visible than ever these days, Chuck Negron takes a brutal look at himself in this uncomfortable yet riveting autobiography.

Three Dog Night lovers have had very little printed matter on the band in recent years (only keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon's book made the shelves, and then vanished quickly). This book covers not only Negron's harrowing experiences as a heroin junkie, but also a behind-the-scenes look at one of American pop music's most successful post-Beatles bands. Drugs and sex tales abound, at times almost continually, and though some might argue that Negron's past drug addiction history has caused him to misremember events as they actually happened, he comes off as being a forgiving and optimistic man. He gingerly avoids dishing too much dirt on his two lead singing partners, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton, who have toured since 1981 without Negron, and he even offers an olive branch towards the conclusion, hoping to make amends with the others, whose fortunes (and places in pop music history) would only benefit from regrouping with Negron.

Whether or not the original band comes together once more for an album and/or tour, one thing's for sure: Chuck Negron is clean, determined, and for the first time in his life, happy to be alive. Read the book to find out why.

Summary: You'll want to read it twice in case you missed something!
Review: I read this book in a matter of hours. I couldn't put it down! It had to be painful for him to re-live everything in this book, because most if it isn't pretty. It's a gut wrenching story, but has a happy ending. If you were a huge Three Dog Night fan as I was, there are moments where you will feel cheated by what drugs stole from you as well as Chuck. But, he's back, he's clean, he's happy, and God bless him - he's sounding as good as ever! The fact that he is still alive to write a book like this is truly a miracle. Read it - it's an inspiration.

Summary: I'm glad you're still with us, Chuck!!
Review: This is one of the better biographies that I have read in a long while. I've become a bit of a Three Dog Night freak in the last few months and I just cannot get enough of them!! After reading this book, I can now distinguish the three personalities of Chuck, Danny and Cory and how they were so destructive to each other. The drug addiction he so painfully mentions is very sad and even though he gets a bit preachy toward the end, it is a very inspirational tale of a man who was at death's door.

Summary: Whatever became of original 3 Dog Night?
Review: One of the best, "whatever happened to..", stories ever. If you are a 3 Dog Night fan you must read this book. It is a sad tale, and it chronicles the damage done by drug abuse (may help at least one person think twice), but it's also an uplifting story. I've been replaying my 3 Dog Night music repeatedly since reading the book. I wish Chuck Negron the best.

Summary: Great Story-Congrats to Chuck
Review: I met Three Dog Night while I was still in high school. In later days, I traveled with them extensively. It is amazing to me that I was either nieve or they were so good at concealing the drug problem. Chuck and his wife were supposed to accompany Jimmy Greenspoon and me on a trip to Tahiti in the mid 80's. They canceled at the last minute. After reading his book, I know why,as well as conversations with Jimmy after he found the release from drugs and alcohol. GREAT STORY!

Summary: A Superb Read
Review: I've just finished reading this book for the third time. I read it about once a year and it never seems to get old. I have always been a huge fan of Three Dog Night. Of course Chuck Negron was my favorite vocalist from the group. Without him it seems unlikely that Three Dog Night would have been as popular as they were and still are. It's an excellent read. I really don't understand some of the other comments, especially that he blamed Danny and Cory for everything that went wrong. Not so! Chuck Negron places the blame squarely on his own shoulders. He laments the horrible life his children suffered. Only after recovering from addiction could he begin to understand the misery he put others through, including his children and friends and family.

I think he's right that, after all is said and done, he was a huge part of TDN's success and he should be touring with them. I would go see TDN perform now, even after all these years. But, not without Chuck Negron.

All in all it's a story that few people can tell. Even fewer people would want to tell such a thing. My hat is off to a person who can admit his mistakes, confess to the world, and move on.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read books.

Summary: Three Dog Disappointment
Review: I have been a Three Dog Night fan for years, and while I suppose some of this information is interesting, I am more than a little tired of Mr. Negron blaming Cory Wells, Danny Hutton and others for his problems. They trusted him too many times, who can blame them for not trusting him again?

Summary: a long lost friend
Review: After watching the Three Dog Night dvd I became curious about whatever happened to the "MISSING" one. This book totally draws you in from the beginning. If I was not reading this book-I was thinking about this book! Being unable to actually relate to his life experience took nothing away from this great book. It leaves you wanting more from this guy. He's got me hooked! His music meant so much to so many people & he totally missed out on what the rest of us enjoyed so much. A definite read you won't want to put down.

Summary: From Fame to Drugs to Courage and Sobriety and Life and God
Review: Chuck Negron is an amazing man. Throughout his book he tells it all with complete honesty about himself. How he had it all at age 30 and lost all of it to a life of drugs and then God gave him strength to recover and He has had 10 years of sobriety.
I applaud Chuck for writing this book as it was very courageous
and it shows the really bad side of show business and how others can be. A must read for everyone.
