Summary: Very touching story by the woman who experienced it
Review: "Elvis and Me" is ony of my favorite books I'v ever read simply because he's my favorite singer and my favorite person of all time, and because it's a great one-in-a-million book. This touching and moving story is told neatly and accordingly by Priscilla who experienced her life as the King's love interest, and later becomes his wife, and become unfortunately separated but they've never lost contact with each other. There are a lot of things about Elvis I never knew before that are in here: His total disinterest in making "G.I. Blues" (I can't imagine why other than he just returned from the Army), and his addiction to prescription drugs staring before the end of his life. It was the Army that got him started on prescription pills. Not because he felt like it, people. Read this wonderful page-turner and see what you think. You'll find out a lot of information. One other thing, Elvis swears in this book several times, but don't let that stop you from loving him.

Summary: I felt a little disappointed.......
Review: As a child who grew up thinking Elvis was the best thing in pants, this movie made me feel very disappointed. I felt as though Priscilla exploited Elvis and made him look terrible. I am in no way disputing what went on in their household as noone knows that better than Priscilla, and yet I couldnt help feeling like she didnt need to make him look like such a monster, while she came away looking like the virgin Mary. Noone can say what her marriage was truly like, except herself and yet I find myself a little resentful that she basically blamed her infidelity on Elvis as if that made it all ok. Dont get me wrong, I watch this movie every time it is on tv, but, I watch it because I love Elvis, not truly because I want to feel sorry for a woman who has made millions off of a dead man who to this day is still putting out albums although he has been dead for 26 years. I will watch this movie over and over again if for nothing else than it is about Elvis and I love to learn more and more about him, but, I dont think that Priscilla was truly the complete victim that she made herself out to be, especially after reading the kind of person she was after she left Elvis. Why doesnt she write a book about that?

Summary: Me and Me
Review: Conceited is the only word I can use to describe Priscilla Presley. She is so obsessed with how she looks that she jeopardized her pregnancy by purposely losing weight by eating one meal a day and driving a motorcycle. The most appalling thing was horsebackriding! I know a lady who fell off her horse, while pregnant, breaking her hip and caused problems for her baby! I was surprised while reading the other reviews that no one commented on that! Priscilla's parents saw dollar signs in Elvis. Why else would they let Priscilla, at 17, move in with Elvis? She comes off as long suffering and acts like she had no clue as what she got into. She waited to leave him after the marriage for she stood to gain alot by name and money. She neglected Lisa by letting hired help raise her and Priscilla's only concern was with her looks. The part she wrote about Elvis having healing powers was laughable! That's when I started to doubt all else she wrote. In this book she talks about others using Elvis for their own personal gains. How ironic she did the same. When she couldn't do her algebra test she asked a fellow student if she'd like to meet Elvis if she'd let Priscilla copy her completed algebra test. Priscilla showed she was just as conniving, jealous and competitive as the rest.

Summary: Elvis the man
Review: Elvis & Me is an interesting though one-sided look at Elvis Presley written by his wife Priscilla. It provides a more human look at the King then most books about him including some frightening glimpses into his dark side. As far as factual information it is quite lacking and his career achievements are greatly overshadowed by his personal life and his relationship with Priscilla and is more a biography of her than her famous husband. That being said, it still provides more insight into Elvis the man than any other book I've read.

Summary: Brilliant and straight to the point
Review: Enjoyed the book becuase I found that what she was saying was straight and to the point -- it gave a clear and concise, candid look into her life and marriage with Elvis

Summary: An Honest Book.
Review: Even though I am a big fan of Elvis Presley, I have never read a book about him before but - I read this one in one sitting! However, without being judgmental about her permissive parents, the book is traight forward, answers a lot - nearly all. And, if Priscilla Presley tried to put her point across, she succeeded with me. Now I am a fan of Priscilla, too. Sorry, Cilla, it took me so long!

Summary: Representation of herself
Review: I couldn't put the book down because of the way in which it was written. I knew that she cheated on Elvis, the details of which she skipped over. I am new to Elvis material, so I don't know much about him. I thought that her book might be helpful for a start. It was and it wasn't. It seems very dramatic and moving, a woman who desperately loves a man she ultimately cannot win away from his dead mother, fame, and child-like emotional stability. I would give this a five if I had never come across another source, but I have. Elvis is a mass market for biographies and video documentaries. I don't blame this woman. But my overall impression of the book, even after consideration of it, is this: If you like a good, turbulent romantic fantasy with a woman's abiding love winning out over all, read the book. If you want to learn about Elvis, this book may not hold its own.

I know nothing about Priscilla nor her enterprise. Therefore I take no personal stance for or against her. She may claim to love Elvis. That's her business. However, as a representation of Elvis, she should have compared her own memories with those of others. Sometimes people who did know someone will write a book simply to get their emotions out. She has some very conflicting ones represented. So, as a representation of Elvis, it isn't one. It is a representation of herself and her emotional state at the time rather than an accurate picture of Elvis. And when someone is speaking from emotion, then the story is definitely highly biased and distorted. But, if she says she loves Elvis, then how can we counter that?

Summary: typical glossed over celeb bio
Review: I have had a change a heart about this book, if you read it when it first came out in the 80's, you thought it was a great book. But now over 15 years later alot of inconsistencies arise but since Priscilla is Priscilla no one has really ever dared to question her. Alot of people who were interviwed for Child Bride tell a diffrent story, so many that their stories can't be explained away because i have always believed were there is smoke, is fire.

In regards to the fact that Priscilla did date quite alot but she says she hardly did and when Priscilla was supposedly giving Elvis encouragment in the TV movie. Another side came about to where she was mocking him, laughing behind his back over the snowmobile suit he was wearing. And on and on, don't buy this book because if you really read it, you will come away with alot more questions then answers. But if you like the usual spin, you will love this one..
