Summary: Please don't waste your time or money
Review: Okay,I am a Aalyiah fan, and I am a person who loves to read. So when this book came out I ran to get it. I would not recommend this book to anyone who has cable or internet access. The information in this book was stuff that I could see on E's true hollywood story or VH1's behind the music or visiting a website. This book did not offer anything we already didn't know about Aaliyah. So if you have cable or internet, don't get it. It was rushed and hurried. I think the person who wrote the book was looking for a quick dollar. If a book is going to come out, it should be written or influenced by those who KNEW her.

Summary: Not for die hard Aaliyah fans
Review: As a die hard Aaliyah fan, this book is just the facts page on an Aaliyah fansite. There could have been much more substance to it, there were a few small facts that I didn't know, like her hotel room alias was Vanessa Lake or something like that. But with the title,More Than A Woman, I expected to read more about the people person she was. Like the fan encounters and her march towards the the top of the entertainment world. It's just not worth the 7 bux to me, go to an Aaliyah fansite instead, cause that's all it is.

Summary: Fast Reading
Review: I read this book in 2 days. I am a huge Aaliyah fan, was very upset when she was killed. She was a beautiful young lady & now she is a beautiful spirit. The book was good, it touched on things most of her true fans had already known about her. The pictures were cool too. I like the fact that the author was truthful and didn't add things that were not known about her. I suggest every fan read it and if you would just like to know about the original hip-hop princess, read it.... They say they have a new hip-hop princess (Ashanti), but they are not saying that she is replacing Aaliyah, noone will ever be able to do that!

Summary: Get to know something about Aaliyah
Review: I thought this book was very easy to read and the author did a great job. I could not put the book down because there were lots of great information about Aaliyah's life. This book really comforted me during a time that was hard because of Aaliyah's death. I highly recommend this book for an Aaliyah fan.

Summary: Great biography
Review: I love this book. I was expecting for it to be only about Aaliyah, but I was wrong. It not only talks about her life, but it gives an overall view of what was happening in the music scene since she arrived. It talks too about different artists and compares Aaliyah to them. The author also gives his point of view, which I think it's great. The prose is well written too.

Summary: really good book
Review: BOOK REVIEW

Aaliyah: More Than A Woman is a book about the life of Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She was an R&B singer and an actress. At age six she got to experience her first acting role. The part was a small role in the musical production of Annie. At age ten Aaliyah appeared on Starsearch, but lost. Later in her life she would release three albums and two movies. This book tells many details about Aaliyah's music videos and her tragic death. Aaliyah's relationship with her boyfriend Damon Dash was glossed over and all former relationships were completely ignored.
This was an easy book to read and understand. People could tell what the author was trying to get across. In certain area's the book jumped around, so it was not very organized. The strongest aspect was about how Aaliyah treated others and how others viewed her. The book talked about different people and events that did not pertain to her, so the book seemed to drift away from her.
Aaliyah is my favorite actress/singer. I found it interesting to learn about her and her life, that is why I gave the book five stars. People who like Aaliyah or enjoy learning about how stars tend to live their lives, would probably enjoy this book. It tells about what stars experience and how Aaliyah's experiences were. The author's message was, no matter what kind of disaster occurs there is always away to put things back together. This is a good message because it helps people to live in the present not the past. The author was able to successfully send this.

Summary: Black urban Angel
Review: Like some people who have wrote reviews, I'm a really big fan of hers and reading that book did help in a way to get over the tragedy of what had happened. The book itself was very insightful on alot of areas but, being a true Aaliyah fan I already knew most of the detail wrote about in the book as well, I mean I feel like I practically grew up with her I started listening to her as soon as she came out with "Age aint nothing but a number" and with her only being a couple of years older than me I felt like I knew her in a way. Of course I think the author could have focused a little more on just Aaliyah instead of other stars and whatnot but I admire that fact that he took the time to talk about the 8 other's briefly and their lives that had died with her on Aug 25, 2001. Aaliyah was my hero my inspiration my idol and will be sorely missed I always looked forward to an aaliyah video. She was truely an elagant, insightful, creative and down person, who is up in heaven with the good lord watching over her loved ones.
