Rating: Summary: An Important Topic - A Medicore Analysis Review: There is an apparent dearth of quality textbooks available on the important and controversial topic of American educational quality and equality. While this book attempts to make inroads, the result is disappointingly heavy on bias, opinion, and over reliance on sketchy studies and too numerous quotes from other works. Additionally, the book is aesthetically unappealling (the paper utilized is coloring book-like) and sloppily full of grammatical and typographical errors. This text was assigned by a well-respected university professor for a senior-level sociology course, but unfortunately, reading this text is more an exercise in wading through opinionated liberalist rhetoric rather than exposure to a fact-based analysis into this important issue. The author, with loose ties to Johns Hopkins and Harvard, knows better, and the topic deserves better.
