Summary: A pretty good intro to Dimebag's playing.
Review: This is a good book to learn a lot of Pantera's (they since have split up) riffs. Although, it gives you a glimpse of some of the techniques he uses during his soloing, you still have listen to Dimebag play them on the records to get the full enjoyment of his musical talents. He is without a doubt, a great guitarist and this book will show some of his more innovative ideas. This book really concentrates on the riff, hence, the title. However, it comes with a CD that is much slower and easier to follow than trying to play with your favorite Pantera album.

Summary: I was aware of that
Review: Very important book ! Even if you don't like Pantera or sir Dimebag personally you might like the way it's done, - nice glance cover and a little circle inside under the back cover which is really interesting to figure what was it for. The message from XIX's century. Just kidding !
Me, myself and my nephew Mike were fighting all the way since "Revolution is my name" was officially released with an album. That song has cut my musical feeling all the way through and I've done a lot of strange things, such as : 1) Made Seymoure Duncan more profitable buying the dimebucker; 2) Randall Warhead combo amp. is now appeared in my house; 3) Washburn guitar is on it's way to my house. But I can't say I was gonna drop all of these features and hate Pantera because I do actually like them.
So, when you are dealing with a regular play style it's not so easy to convert yourself into the Texas Style unless you're genius with a perfect musical memory. I'm actually welldone with all those normal fuse plays, but that was in the past and not interesting. Myself doesn't allow Me to copy anybody and saying that I have to come up with my own style, but in order to find mine I have to pass through the other's - experience. Mike has agreed with me. This book helped me to realize there are a lot of people could play better, but the main point of all this that I have to be myself, because nobody is up to hear Pantera #2 or to be a Dimebag #2. Anyway, thank you very much for this book !
